I think we can sell you :-) I'll give a buck $2.95 if you're good at finishing drywall....... I would pay $3 for window cleaning. Ok, Ok. I'll go up to $3.23, but for drywall and some work in the garden. You cheap bastid!!! I will go to #3.24.

I play sneaky. My sister asked me to help her weed the 1/2 acre organic vegetable garden at the farm in Toronto, and I pulled everything green out. She sent me away (with a grin on my face) and I never had to help with the weeding again. (Before you chastise me for being mean... there were 60 other people that were there to help out that day too... I ended up doing the watering with the tractor)

Methinks, whatever you say, say it with heart, and not an agenda. Gals can read between the lines. Trying too hard to be clever or cute can backfire. Keep it simple, true, and if you can inject any humor, it is always appreciated. The advice to roam amd participate in the forums is golden. Seeing who you really are, may generate emails coming YOUR way. I think we can sell you :-) Very nice, Thank You so much... all of you!

see... now that really bugs me it's hard enough getting up the nerve to even send that first email... without a bunch of dimwits having already wrecked, or at least diminished any chance of someone believing I could actually be a gentleman. I don't doubt for a minute that some have sent emails like that... but... sheesh You sound like a very nice gentlement to me. Trust me, we can pick out the scammers a mile away

First e-mail? I have no idea, but evidently not what I've been saying! I've written to 5-6 ladies who made some indication of interest in me here, and very few reply and many of those that do with one or two word replies. I don't feel I've lost anything from people with so little to say, but the lack of replies does puzzle me a bit! I generally make a playful (I think) comment about some aspect of the info in their profile - like a book, picture, or TV show, etc. You'd think they'd like to talk about such a thing, but nada. Then again, maybe that's all the reply I need to know I'm on the wrong track. And maybe the same for them too! Who knows!? FantasyArtMan

Thank you everyone who takes the time to post.... I read through all the threads when I can & have learned alot, Just by looking. I once asked if Dating again is anything like riding a bike, Well No, I do know it takes time & Patience for anything to begin & Friendship is the best of all gifts one could ask for. Here is what drives me to fiery hot cheetos. If I say in my profile that I am only interested in those guys local to me. If I say I don't want someone young enough to have gone to school with my children then WHY are you contacting me. I mean it is kinda difficult to take long walks on the beach with someone who lives hundreds if not thousands of miles away. And why the heck does someone who does not want children want to strike up a conversation with someone who has SOLE custody and states in her profile "must love children"?
