So here is the situation; I have a great job. I found out that my boss is bringing one of his guns to work where he keeps it in his car. He has a concealed weapons permit and a terrible temper. He never smiles ever. I spoke with all of my co workers and they all said that I have to say something so I spoke with management; they say that it is legal if he has a permit but I say that anyone who is not a police officer or paid security guard should be terminated for bringing a gun to work and I do not feel safe knowing that my boss is armed. What should I do?

Unfortunately, for you, is doesn’t matter what you think. He is apparently not breaking their rules, so about all you can do is make sure you don’t get on his bad side. i would find out how he likes his coffee...

I'm sorry, but he's within the law. At least it's outside in his car. I wish I could give better advice.

As Kc said it is his right. Unless you can find something within the Policy Rules that you job may have then there is nothing you can do about it.

If your work gave out a list of Company Policy's then I would advise you to read it very carefully to see if you can find a policy that would forbid guns being on the property. If so then you may have a leg to stand on. For Company Policy's on Company Property can override those beyond the property...

If not then there may not be much you can do... at least it is out in his car and not in his office...whoa

I dunno, the only purpose of a firearm is to kill... I think you should ALL do away with your weapons. whoa No wonder your children bring em to school.

Buy a sixgun.

Practice your quickdraw.

Then you will be ready to deal with the threat!

Unfortunately as long as he has a concealed weapons permit, he is not breaking any laws. I can understand your concern. All you can do is check company policy close and see if weapons are not permitted on company property. Try and stay on his good side.
Good Luck

Pardon my ignorance, but is that how people deal with it for real?

Let me get this right, he is armed, he is a loose canon, has a terrible temper and is in a position of corporate authority over the OP and he feels unsafe.

So people bow to his superiority and let him be until he pulls a trigger?

Sorry but That's messed up! indifferent

I'm curious, do people who possess firearm licences go through some kind of periodic psych evaluations?

Edit*

Mandatory drug testing? Something to assure the general public??? anything???

It is messed up and makes life here kinda frightening...
so many random shootings.
But hey, it's the american way!

No evaluations, just can't be a felon. That's it!

Yep, yep! And depending on the state, you can take an 8hr class and that's it, or 10-15hrs, some class, and some firing practice, if I recall. Even if you've NEVER handled a gun before.

I hope we eventually go unconcealed. Least that way, I'll know who to stay away from.
