I am pretty sure the people carrying guns illegally far outnumbers the people who get a permit. So what does it really matter......

What she said! I am a FIRM believer in the second amendment and all that the NRA stands for. Although any monkey can get a LTCF permit as long as you don't have a felony. That's one thing that makes this country great (and why we still speak English........for now). It's normally good to stay on EVERYBODYS good side (unless you have a good reason), but there's a LOT of guns out there. MOST are responsible with them (even if you do tick them off a bit). I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure there's alot more people out there carrying than you know about..........

Sir, you are probably right. Who knows who is really carrying what? Maybe I should be ok with the fact that he is a law abiding citizen and that even if he has a temper maybe that has nothing to do with gun ownership. Maybe it would be unreasonable to insist that everyone share my viewpoints political and otherwise; maybe I am over reacting. However even with your viewpoints you must admit that I had a reason to be concerned about deadly force and its immediate availability in the workplace. Maybe it is time to relax those concerns as there seems to be nothing I can do. They asked me to go special forces at the end of my first enlistment; but after the DMZ I hate guns. Maybe I should be tolerant of gun owners as they are people too. Still no guns for me, after years US Army I am finished with guns.

Seriously though, my Dad is a TOTAL gun nut (he used to keep a full auto KG9 under the seat of his car as a back-up to his .357 mag and pump 12 ga), so that's a hint that I was brought up around them. I was shooting rifles, shotguns, handguns, full auto's, etc as soon I was big enough to hold them. He didn't do a WHOLE lot for me in life, but he did teach me about firearms and how to respect them. At any given time when I was little there were no less than a dozen guns around the house. Always loaded and ready to go. No locks or any of that BS you have now. Me and my younger bro knew better that they're not toys and if need be, how to use them. Now, MANY years later, me and my bro still have firearms of our own and have yet used them out of anger to shoot anybody. The vast majority of people that I know own a firearm and haven't shot anybody. All in all, guns don't kill......people do. If they want to do it.....they will. Gun or not.......

I value your opinions but I think your definition of freedom is flawed when it comes to firearms. What you describe as "freedom" I would call being held hostage. Don't be sorry for us, WE enjoy freedom in ways YOU can only imagine.
My whole family are hunters... I've inherited more rifles than I know what to do with... I'm a 100yrd marksman, I'd rather beat the SOB with it than pull a trigger on him. My doors are unlocked ALWAYS... Please pitty the fool who dares to break into my neighborhood.
