The Green Hornet. Gotta see this one. Can't remember the last time I laughed so much in a movie. Really? I didn't like the movie. Couldn't even finish it. Yup. Watched it with my son. I'm guessing you stopped watching when the Hornet and Cato started fighting. That part they didn't do very well. The internal conflict with the fact they both wanted the secretary. The funny part about that was she didn't want either of them. the funniest part was him trying to be a bad guy but being polite all the time as well. Loved them not having a clue what to do and let her guide their actions because they didn't know what they should do. Cato was way over the top. There was nothing he couldn't do. I mean building 4 cars in 11 days! The bad guy's henchmen kept getting crushed by heavy objects too. It was so over the top it was funny. I think the last time I laughed that much was when I watched Who's Harry Crumb in the early 90s. |

The Loved Ones
In order to avoid a ghostly figure in the road, high school senior Brent Mitchell wraps his car around a tree, killing his father. Constantly confronted by his mother's emotional collapse after the accident, Brent escapes into a marijuana fueled world of loud metal music to block the pain and guilt. Dejected and out of sorts, he has a shot at happiness with his girlfriend Holly, a grounded, caring girl with drop dead good looks, a dream date for the high school prom. But his plans are thwarted by a disturbing series of events that take place under a mirrored disco ball, involving pink satin, glitter, syringes, nails, power drills and a secret admirer. Brent has become the prom king at a macabre, sadistic event where he is the entertainment. |

I definitely did not expect this one to turn out quite as well as it actually did. I thought, meh, just another teenage horror flick. Girl goes wild, probably, blah, blah. I was very pleased that everything was not as I predicted it to be. From the killer's psyche to the actual sequences. But I did know it was going to be good once I heard their opening music. A movie with music that good in the beginning can only lead to better things. Definitely going in my collection and recommended movie list! :) |
