Dear Brigitte. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Nice funny movie. That's a great movie. I like the 3 comedies Jimmy Stewart did in the 60's- Dear Brigitte, Take Her She's Mine, and Mr Hobbs Takes A Vacation. Enjoying this movie, I remember watching this many years ago. I realized who the kid is from Lost IN Space. Billy Mumy. Great child actor, he's also in a couple of memorable Twilight Zone episodes...especially like the one where he wishes people into the cornfield. I remember those. I used to eat at a all you can eat buffet in So. Cal. at castaways restaurant on the hill in Burbank. He is a nice man to talk with. His kids are also actors. His daughter Lily played his daughter in an episode of one of the newer Twilight Zones, it was a sequel to the episode where Billy played the kid that wished people into cornfields. I looked up the information yesterday, watched a few small clips of her work. Pretty little lady. |

Three Extremes BOX (Takashi Miike) - Kyoko is haunted by the accidental death of her sister. She has severe nightmares and has a hard time differentiating between her nightmares and reality. How much of what Kyoko envisions is dream, and how much is reality. DUMPLINGS (Fruit Chan) - centers around a woman who uses a sickening "special ingredient" for her dumplings, which causes age-reversing effects in those that eat them. CUT (Park Chan-Wook) - A film director who apparently lives the "ideal" life, is thrown into a hellish nightmare when he is confronted by one of his previous employees. |

Ju-on
As with my experience with all Asian movies, the original as always a lot better than the American remake. In this case, The Grudge. The Asian movies always have more of an explanation as to why the events are happening that are only touched upon in the American versions. The American versions are not as rich in story as the Asian originals. This is a really good horror movie. Much better than The Grudge. |

Freaky
I am watching Ju-on right now. This scene has the Grunge crawling down the stairs. I realized that my TV is at the bottom of a stairwell that looks very much like that in the movie and the lighting is very similar as well. Sent chills down my spine. Almost expected a head to pop around the corner... |
