why can't the woman just be on birth control i think this will be the general response..... Why should men put it on the woman to prevent contraception of a child......it should be just as important for a man to take the responsibility to prevent preganancy....I feel it would give men more control on who they procreated with.....now if they lay with a woman that is trying to trap them through a child they can be responsible enough to avoid the situation all together.....but then again there are rubbers and they don't use them |

Ok, this is how it works.... we are the ones who get pregnant we are the ones who get (or not) the abortions we are the ones who give birth we are the ones who take care of the children generally men (most) won't use birth control because they don't have to and there are those men who want a full voice on any decisions involving 'the baby' reminds me of the billboard thread... if a man won't have participation in the pregnancy prevention he has no say in her choice should a pregnancy happen the only men who would consider this as an option are ones who are in a serious relationship and the topic of children is discussed or those concerned about 'her' health and well being should she be having issues with her birth control method...getting sick, gaining weight, whatever. ....the concern is not going to be there unless it is a serious relationship it's just the way it is ladies... so be careful out there  |

I'm still confused about the birth control = slu*s way of thinking, though. So, some of these men don't want women who use birth control, because they assume it means they sleep around. I wonder if these same men would tell women who aren't using birth control not to have an abortion if they did get pregnant and wasn't ready to have a baby for whatever reason? There are many men out there who are completely against abortions. For those men that are here, would you consider taking birth control for men in order to not have to worry about the possibility of an abortion ever being an issue? |

why can't the woman just be on birth control i think this will be the general response..... the thing with birth control is,,, STD's pregnancy isnt the WORST potential consequence of sex so, men who dont wish to have as high a risk of becoming fathers or DYING, ought to wear protection(correctly) and women who dont wish to have as high a risk of becoming mothers or DYING, out to INSIST their partner wears protection (correctly) and , as women, we have the added protection of using other contraception so we dont have an unwanted pregnancy with 'our bodies' men dont have to fear being pregnant, so I doubt the other forms of contraception will be nearly as PERSONAL a decision for them |

If a woman gets pregnant and she has wants to have an abortion and the guy doesn't the guy has no say in the matter because its the womans body (by law). So she should be more responsible for birth control. With great power comes great responsibility. |

No way. Don't fancy a pill that could ruin my sperm at all. And single men wouldnt take it because there is no need. So it's really down to couples who would take it and there are more than enough other contraceptives out there.

With great power comes great responsibility. good point if that perception/law were to ever change and the baby from CONCEPTION were considered as much the fathers child as the mothers do you think it would be more reasonable for men to also use contraception to prevent the pregnancy? |

god, I hate being right all the time.... Right about what? About men not wanting to be on birth control. Hi all am single n I think birth control 4 men is a gud idea only if it will not av side effects becos a man is a man becos of his fertility of his sperm . If u ask me am not ready 2 make use of it until its been tested on men who av been monitored 4 at least ten years 2 be sure there wld be no side effects |

My idea on this is that maybe it would work in a couple situation and that only. Though why can't the woman just be on birth control as that already exists and they even have kinds that don't require a pill. For single people it won't work. They guys are not the ones to get pregnant so I don't think they would be taking a pill everyday "just in case" they get laid. They are not like woman. they can't get it whenever they want. For one, peace of mind comes to mind. No worries about whether the woman is actually on birth control, or worrying about if the condom breaks, right? I dont worry about condoms breaking. Also when not in a relationship its more difficult for a guy to find someone to sleep with than a girl. Birth control has no extra functions for guys but for girls it can relieve symptoms of "that special time" and even help clear skin. A condom is way more convenient for a guy than a pill. |
