there are threats and there are promises

hard to tell the two apart until the scene plays out completely

If I know there is a train coming, and my friend does not
and I say, its all cool(theres nothing to fear) UNLESS you stand on the track

am I threatening them, or WARNING them,,,,?

there is a thin line,,,,

But if God is all powerful he could stop the train.

How about, your friend telling you that you must love him or else he will push you in front of the train?

Or, how about you are caught in the train track and he insists that you love him and worship him or else he will just leave you to your fate?

those are options, its all based upon perception

are we being PUSHED for not loving
or are we choosing to stand on the tracks that lead to imminent death that we have been given a GIFT of avoiding in return for accepting someones hand to do so,,?

The Gospel of Mary Magdalene has Taoist and Buddhist concepts presented in first century Christian Semantics.

Jesus is quoted as saying that "All natures, all formed things, all creatures exist in and with one another and will again be resolved into their own roots, because the nature of matter is dissolved into the roots of its nature alone."

I would think that Christians would want to read all of the scriptures that were purportedly written by disciples of Jesus. I don't think they even know about most of them.

Why would the church withhold such information?

Why would the church withhold such information?

Because they don't want people to know the truth.

They'd rather call all the shots and just have people cower down to what they have to say.

That's how cults work. bigsmile

I think its just called 'editing'. As I understand, the BIBLE would be pretty big if every scripture 'purported' to be written by a disciple were included.

many scriptures just didnt 'cut the mustard', or 'pass the test' of authenticity or verification with other sources of the time.

It'd be one thing if that gift actually made sense, but here it simply does not. The "gift" here is a blood sacrifice made just so father God can stand to look at us, even though it was souls before us that did anything wrong at all. The whole thing is highly ritualistic number one, and number two just defies all good sense. No good parent is ever gonna blame their kids for what others before them did firstly, and secondly then say that without a blood sacrifice and the acceptance that it is done for them, they will die.

Sorry it does not work at all, either as a gift or as a non fear tactic.

Okay, IF I were a Christian, or if I was considering becoming a Christian I personally would want to read every scrap of scripture written or purportedly written by all of his disciples about anything that Jesus taught or said.

I would want to read them for myself and decide for myself if they were meaningful or significant.

That is how I learn things today. I read everything I can find about a subject. I do NOT want someone picking out what I can and cannot read or telling me what they think is "cutting the mustard" or "passes the test" of authenticity or verification etc.

That is because I TRUST MYSELF more than I trust a Church or Government with an agenda.

Who do they think they are? Who do YOU think they are?

Today, you CAN find these scriptures and read them.

In the search for the truth of history or of God why would you trust someone else to tell you what you should read or should not read???

That to me, is just common sense.

Jeannie...THE BIBLE IS THE INERRANT ,HOLY SPIRIT

BREATHED , DIVINELY INSPIRIED WORD OF GOD !!!!

I Think God is ABLE to watch over His Word ,

The Holy Bible.....

and is MORE than ABLE to keep the works that were NOT

divinely inspired, OUT of His Holy Book !!!

Wouldn't ya think?

Come on now...

.................

Question: "What are the lost books of the Bible?"

Answer:There are no “lost books” of the Bible or books that were

taken out of the Bible. There are many legends and rumors of lost

books, but there is no truth whatsoever to these stories. Every book

that God intended and inspired to be in the Bible is in the Bible.

There are literally hundreds of religious books that were written

in the same time period as the books of the Bible. Some of these

books contain true accounts of things that actually occurred (1

Maccabees, for example). Some contain good spiritual teaching (the

Wisdom of Solomon, for example). However, these books are not

inspired by God. If we read any of these books, the Apocrypha as an

example, we have to treat them as fallible historical books, not as

the inspired, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The gospel of Thomas, for example, was a forgery written in the 3rd

or 4th century A.D., claiming to have been written by the apostle

Thomas. It was not written by Thomas. The early church fathers

almost universally rejected the gospel of Thomas as heretical. It

contains many false and heretical things that Jesus supposedly said

and did. None of it (or at best very little of it) is true. The

epistle of Barnabas was not written by the biblical Barnabas, but

by an imposter. The same can be said of the gospel of Philip, the

apocalypse of Peter, etc.

There is one God. The Bible has one Creator. It is one book. It has

one plan of grace, recorded from initiation, through execution, to

consummation. From predestination to glorification, the Bible is

the story of God redeeming His chosen people for the praise of His

glory. As God’s redemptive purposes and plan unfold in Scripture,

the recurring themes constantly emphasized are the character of

God, the judgment for sin and disobedience, the blessing for faith

and obedience, the Lord Savior and sacrifice for sin, and the

coming kingdom and glory. It is God’s intention that we know and

understand these five themes because our lives and eternal

destinies depend upon them. It is therefore unthinkable that God

would allow some of this vital information to be “lost” in any way.

The Bible is complete, in order that we who read and understand it

might also be “complete, and equipped for every good work” (2

Timothy 3:16-17).

No, because I don't believe that God gets so personally involved in the evil deeds of man. That would be interfering in free will.

He is not here supervising everything that goes on.

I would not allow any preacher to tell me what to read or what not to read nor would I trust God to keep that preacher honest.

Everyone has free will and God does not interfere in the free will of mankind.

Answer:There are no “lost books” of the Bible or books that were

And why should I believe who ever wrote that?
And why should I not be allowed read and decide for myself what is true or not true?

Every book

that God intended and inspired to be in the Bible is in the Bible.

I don't even know who is saying that, you or some website's unknown author with another opinion.

Why should I believe it?

There are literally hundreds of religious books that were written

in the same time period as the books of the Bible. Some of these

books contain true accounts of things that actually occurred (1

Maccabees, for example). Some contain good spiritual teaching (the

Wisdom of Solomon, for example). However, these books are not

inspired by God.

Says who???
Do you really and truly expect me to believe that the Romans who created the Religion of Christianity knew what was inspired by God and what was not?

What reason does anyone have to believe them, or you or that website you pasted this from?

Come on, get serious.

If we read any of these books, the Apocrypha as an

example, we have to treat them as fallible historical books, not as

the inspired, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

That's okay by me. That's how I read EVERY BOOK.
Every book is a fallible historical book.
There is no infallible book inspired by "God."

The gospel of Thomas, for example, was a forgery written in the 3rd

or 4th century A.D., claiming to have been written by the apostle

Thomas.

I'm not so sure that the entire New Testament isn't a forgery or a pure fiction. It is easy enough for someone to claim anything about anything. The power to do so is always in the hands of the authority in charge. They do what ever suits their purpose.

Don't be so gullible.

Those same early church fathers would declare you to be a heretic and they would have had you killed for being an intelligent and outspoken woman too.

Are you telling me you are going to take their word for it? They claim every protestant is a heritic!!!

They have no reason not to believe those stories except that the information was not in agreement with the big fat lie they were designing for their religious agenda and their own purpose.

That is what heretic means. They do not agree with the Church's doctrine and dogma.

If that gospel talks about what Jesus said and did there is no reason not to believe it any less or any more than any other scriptures.

Jeaniebean you and your friends have no idea of what you are talking about, with what comes out of your mouth is what is in your heart and mind and its filled with rubbish from MAN.....you think you know it all,you think you lord it over this site,so you think! and other sites you have on here with all this rubbish stuff on enlightenment ect ect(new age stuff)do the crystals really give you dreams and protect you (you know them cold stones)?and why tell peaple about it when they dont want to know!!!!! just like you said about christians (the difference is, man can only tell what you know,(head knowlege) ALL THAT HOO HAA TOO DAFT TO LAUGH AT STUFF.

But we HAVE A AWESOME GOD WHO HAS THE POWER TO SPEAK TO PEAPLE and lead them into all truth ,why do you think the biggest religion is christianity, because we have a GOD WHO LOVES,DELIVERS ,HEALS,MAKES WHOLE,ENABLES YOU TO FORGIVE,AND TO LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND PRAY FOR THEM WHO SPITEFULLY USE YOU!!!!!!!
All you have done is pull down, call christians liers and God Almighty at that(take it from me you really do need to fear GOD and repent of all that you have said about him, because you dont really know who you are messing with)he is a God of wrath as well as love, and you will be judged for every idol word spoken by each of you. Now, we have gone out of our way to be nice to you all and in return you have totally underminded everything that has been said on this site which may i add, is about judgment day and this universe, which again may i add belongs to our GOD THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH,WHO MADE THE UNIVERSE AND ALL THAT IS IN IT,THE MOUNTIAN AND THE SEAS HE HOLDS IN THE PALM OF HIS HANDS,AND IN HIS SIGHT WE ARE AS SMALL AS GRASS HOPPERS,(and you think you being big with your thoughts and critisis about him and us his children!!!!! you really need to think again about the words what come out of your mouth against him.I feel sorry for you to be honest for the slandering remarks about all this!!!!!!!

You are not the only ones who have your say on here, and why do you mess with tarrot cards when its purly of the devil himself, you are working with darkness and it will come back to bite you believe me, the devil has no friends. You read these things to innocent peaple (probably charge money for the devils service too)you will be made accountable to GOD for this!!!!!!!! take a look in the bible for once and find out this is an obomination to our GOD the same as spiritulism, telling fortunes, bowing to other gods(yes little g) and there for brings curses upon your life, peaple delve into these things not really understanding the consiquences (and no i am not a good speller as you clearly pointed out to me )but so what its just a little matter not important, and when bad things happen to them---they BLAME GOD.

HAVE YOU EVER READ THE BIBLE!!!!!!!(dont judge others or it will come back to you)

He gave the bible for all these reasons too, for your protection because he loves you BUT you have all just thrown it back in his face, even before i was a christian i would never say the things what you all have said about him i would be to afraid and i was right to think that way,he gave you the breath you breathe,if he stopped breathing so would you.

Where and how do you think you were made?dont you ever think why you were made the way you are, dont you ever think of how wonderfully you are made, dont just think of the outside look at the inside, was it the men who wrote the books which you read, did he make, mould and fashion you,NO it was GOD ALMIGHTY OF HEAVEN AND EARTH THATS WHO MADE YOU........

I think head knowlege ruins a person they think they have it all!!!!!!!!! and know it all !!!!!!!!but they have nothing!!!just wells with out water.

JUDGEMENT DAY....WILL COME.and no these are not threats because threats are just threats...this will happen and JESUS is coming soon (no dates for you just read your bible and find out for your self.

I know what my God has done in my life, there for i know him to be true,i have been in his presence many a time and also been healed from athritus and asma, so where my children healed of asma,he has done many things in my life if he hadnt proved to me who he said he was i would never be walking with him today after being a christian for 18 years.BUT i know you will call me a lier but your words dont matter at all to me as JESUS said if they dont want to listen, turn around and shake the dust of your feet.Ah i wonder who he means?yes jeaniebean you do have just one thing right GOD does not interfere with your free will because you all know right from wrong he didnt make robots its what you choose at the end of the day,As for any one who preaches the word of GOD by faith God will honour he will also lead us into all truth and the truth will set us free, and clearly you dont know the scripture or studied it because if you read it then you would know the devil is under our feet as a child of GOD because of JESUS,read about the man who was full of demons and JESUS COMMANDED the demons to go into to the pigs!!!!!!!the man was completly set free and normal again.......

and the demons in the man who said, JESUS i know, Paul i know but who are you......Thats called authority!!!!!!!and there are many more truths in the bible if you would care to pick it up and read instead of judgeing about something you know nothing about.

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY,

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY,

WHO WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME!

YOU ARE WORTHY,O LORD,

There will be fear and trembling on that day of judgement before almighty GOD, is all this worth the risk of being so wrong,i would say NO.

whether it be called common sense or mere curiosity, I feel that noone will live long enough to know EVERYTHING written on any subject

I dont have enough curiosity to try. I feel the fruits I need are in the bible and there is plenty there for me to apply to my life. I do take time to vaguely research things when they are mentioned, but I find them nothing that ADDS to what I already have been taught and experienced, so I move on to 'studying' things that interest me more.

I dont begrudge those who wish to know everything, but I wish to know what I need for survival and fulfillment and the rest of my time I wish to spend LIVING and not studying about how to live or how every person who wrote something about living thinks life should be.

God has never spoken to me or anyone I know or have ever known. If God exists, I don't believe there'd be doubt in ANYone's mind. Aside from that, Christianty is a big religion because of the crusades ... a time when government sanctioned death squads slaughtered anyone who did not believe and would not convert to Christianity. Whatever the case, most Christians I know "serve" out of fear of going to Hell.

All you have done is pull down, call christians liers and God Almighty at that(take it from me you really do need to fear GOD and repent of all that you have said about him, because you dont really know who you are messing with)he is a God of wrath as well as love ... Now, we have gone out of our way to be nice to you all and in return you have totally underminded everything that has been said on this site which may i add, is about judgment day and this universe ...

Debating. What we're doing is debating ... you're taking this way too personally. We're apparently "messing" with the Christian God, noted. Telling anyone they're going to Hell for disbelief and to repent is not "going out of your way to be nice". As for "undermining" ... that's another example of what religious people have done for thousands of years with missionaries, nevermind the wholesale slaughter of indigenous peoples.

You are not the only ones who have your say on here ... the devil has no friends ... take a look in the bible for once and find out this is an obomination to our GOD the same as spiritulism ... bowing to other gods(yes little g) and there for brings curses upon your life ...

HAVE YOU EVER READ THE BIBLE!!!!!!!(dont judge others or it will come back to you)

You're REALLY going out of your way to be nice, how civil. No one's told you to keep silent. You preach tolerance of your religion yet in this very same paragraph you're claiming anyone who believes differently than you is a disciple of Satan and therefore evil. The "little g" remark is characteristic of your own petty intolerance and belittling of every other belief in the world. On the other hand, I always capitalize God. Who's being intolerant?

I've read the Bible, yes ... you're not representing Jesus very well though I do find correlations between your behavior and the religion as a whole. Kudos.

He gave the bible for all these reasons too, for your protection because he loves you BUT you have all just thrown it back in his face, even before i was a christian i would never say the things what you all have said about him i would be to afraid and i was right to think that way,he gave you the breath you breathe,if he stopped breathing so would you.

Prove it.

Where and how do you think you were made?dont you ever think why you were made the way you are, dont you ever think of how wonderfully you are made ...

Evolution.

I think head knowlege ruins a person they think they have it all!!!!!!!!!

"Head knowledge" is what gave us medicine ... the ability to keep people alive longer and far more healthily than ever before and protection from many diseases. Prior to the 1800s, life expectancy in most places were around the age of 40 at best. "Head knowledge" is the reason we can communicate long distances with our loved ones and gave you the computer you're using to rant to the rest of us here. It gave us running water and water purification, sewers and sewage treatment, boats, airplanes, space shuttles, cell phones, refridgeration, stoves, air conditioning ...

You think "head knowledge" ruins people? Why aren't you Amish?

I really don't feel like quoting more. You've attacked more people and religions in just one of your posts than anyone else here has on this board.

Calm down. This is a debate, not the pulpit.

I don't call Christians liars. I think they honestly believe what they are saying. I don't think that qualifies as an intentional lie.

I don't expect you to "go out of your way to be nice" to me either. I know its hard for you and I know you don't really mean it anyway so I'm not fooled by your "nice."

I have learned not to fall for those kinds of fake pretenders anyway. So many people who call themselves Christians are just pretending to be "nice" when they don't really feel it in their hearts.

(I do think that Morningsong really IS nice. A true Christian and true believer, thru and thru. )

And how dare you threaten me with the wrath of "your" God! That's just childish and rude! And by the way, YOU DON'T OWN GOD.

Your concepts of God are just different from mine that's all.

Here are your threats:

(take it from me you really do need to fear GOD and repent of all that you have said about him, because you dont really know who you are messing with)he is a God of wrath as well as love, and you will be judged for every idol word spoken by each of you.

There will be fear and trembling on that day of judgement before almighty GOD, is all this worth the risk of being so wrong,i would say NO.

Now you should read the Bible yourself. There is nothing at all in the Bible about the Tarot cards being 'evil' or connected with 'the devil. That is an ignorant superstition. And to say this kind of stuff is slander against me. Not to mention its just rude.

and why do you mess with tarrot cards when its purly of the devil himself, you are working with darkness and it will come back to bite you believe me, the devil has no friends. You read these things to innocent peaple (probably charge money for the devils service too)you will be made accountable to GOD for this!!!!!!!!

The above is ignorant slander. You know nothing about me at all and you slander me with your religious prejudice notions? Here is some good advice; keep those kinds of wrong thoughts to yourself.

take a look in the bible for once and find out this is an obomination to our GOD the same as spiritulism, telling fortunes, bowing to other gods(yes little g) and there for brings curses upon your life, peaple delve into these things not really understanding the consiquences (and no i am not a good speller as you clearly pointed out to me )but so what its just a little matter not important, and when bad things happen to them---they BLAME GOD.

I don't "blame God" for anything.

And for your information, neither Christianity OR YOU OWN God!

I don't believe what you believe so you should stop judging me according to what you believe.

To be quite frank with you I don't think you can handle discussing religion on these forums. You might want to try the Christian forums. You are getting too upset and emotional about what I say and what I believe and what I like to discuss, when it is no concern of yours. If it upsets you, don't read it.

You can't expect everyone in the world to agree with you. If you can't discuss things in a civil intelligent manner, you should probably not be here getting all upset.
