My sister was VERY nervous when she went to
meet her prospective in-laws, a big farm family. They sat her in a rocking chair, nearly in the middle of them all. She started to rock, as they interrogated her. Faster and faster. She tipped over backwards. !!!!!!!!! They still talk about it :-) |

Yes..... I remember one time meeting "the parents"
I blocked the old mans designer toilet... I should have known by the fancy flushing button on top. My first thought was to lightly cover it with TP and get the hell outa there but nooooo I had to ask for a plunger  very embarrassing really but those things should have warning labels. "purely for decoration purposes, DO NOT CRAP!" |

that's priceless!! and i take it that her feet actually touch the floor when sitting in a chair?? :P She starts to tremble at the sight of a rocking chair :-) Too funny Johnn, nothing guaranteed to make you look more ridiculous. haha i went to meet the parents one time and they made certain to leave a handgun laying out on the kitchen table and then proceeded to play threaten me with a bread knife...

I was very nervous...he only had his dad, but warned me that when his family doesn't like someone they will let you know it.
My jaw hurt from smiling so much (my nervous reaction) and never uttered a word unless asked. Since that meeting my nick name was smiley. So all in all it went well enough.

Nope no reason to get nervous they are people too just like meeting anyone else. Besides I clean up real nice.

actually have met a few sets of parents, numerous brothers, countless sisters, a gazillion of cousins
in one town I did not meet anyone who was not a cousin - nephew - uncle or brother - kinda scary really and no - didn't bother me - Ima rare one - love almost everyone I meet to pieces, but don't give a hoot in the holler if ya like me or not so if I get those "suspicious eyes?" I grab a beer & start singing

Her soon-to-be husband was laughing so hard, his family kept saying "What's wrong with her?" "Why ain't she getting up?" And she's upside down in this big old rocker and can't get out. |
