"Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God."

So don't misunderstand, if we were to get rid of religion, it doesn't mean we'd be getting rid of God, because God can and does exist outside of it as much He exists inside.

I ain't sure why God's existance would require human acceptance...if it is God...our opinions don't matter. ...unless it is some pansy god who will wither and die cause someone in the midwest doesn't believe.

It really doesn't, but I'm just making the point that just because we get rid of religion doesn't mean we get rid of God too.

Id have population control.

Id eliminate Star Trek 1,3,and 5 from existence, because they sucked.

Id turn North Dakota into a prison eliminating all the other ones and make them dog parks and wildlife preserves.

Id make the NFL more into the European Soccer leagues where if they start sucking really bad, they will get dropped into another division much like they do in Europe.

Id eliminate religion.

Id would profusely deny I ever got a BJ from my intern If I was president.

Id make everyone use an alternative fuel that is healthier to the environment.

Id put the first three Indiana Jones on Blu Ray.

No Athlete will make over 2 million a year and they will all get circumcised due to the fact of all the illegitimate children they have sometimes.

Prostitution and drugs will be legalized to certain parts of the such. Such as the do in Nevada. With that, there would be a good chance that smuggling and unnecessary murders and drive bys would drop dramatically.

All gang bangers and drug dealers, cheaters or gov't officials doing wrong will be executed.

If you're caught eating yellow snow. Your picture will be posted on the net.

Golf courses shall be turned into parks for abandoned animals.

The NCAA football league will have playoff system much like pro sports and NCAA basketball

PS3 will make me a primary character on their next Fallout Series bigsmile

I agree with everything except religion....

(Oh no....never talk religion Roberta)frustrated

I want my God, and I need my God, and I believe in my God....

But I do see your point....

most of the wars in the world are "Holy Wars" about religion....

and that sucks!!

I will tell you one thing, and actually this is another thing I'd change if I could, in line with the waking people up idea.

One thing I have learned in the last year that has totally changed how I see people, and how I see myself, is that much of what is taught in organized religion, and what it bears (such as the aforementioned holy wars you speak of), is far from Godly or holy.

In fact all it really does is divide the people more than anything else, with the ideas out there that you must believe this or do that in order to be saved with no other way. This is where a lot of the issues stem from, everyone tends to think they are right and everyone else is wrong. It's all very unneccessary and it's just not needed.

So if I would change anything, I would want people to know and understand that you don't need a religion, you don't need a church, you don't need to believe in a so called holy book to believe in God. God is all around, and is nothing like what we are told that He is. In short, He is pure love, unconditional and unceasing. God needs no worship from us to be pleased, is not gonna smite you if you do the wrong things, much less send you to Hell to burn if you don't believe as you are told. None of that is true or representative of a loving Creator.

Our relationship to the creator, to God is a personal thing, there is not just one path only no matter what anyone else may tell you. You cannot limit an unlimited being like that, for it would cease to be unlimited if you did.

There's a quote to sum this all up and it goes this way:

"Always remember, ultimately, to never follow any person's belief. Your relationship with God is between you and God."

So don't misunderstand, if we were to get rid of religion, it doesn't mean we'd be getting rid of God, because God can and does exist outside of it as much He exists inside.

getting rid of religion wouldnt get rid of God, true
but getting rid of religion is getting rid of a RELATIONSHIP with God because it gets rid of BELIEF in God,,,

religion does not equate to spritual enlightenment

but NO religion(ie. no belief)does equat to spiritual ignorance,,

you have a belief, from what you post, you have just experienced a life in which what you believe has been condemned as seperate from 'religion'

I believe you have religion ( a belief in God )

The thing is, I don't neccessarily live my life by it, whereas the more religious will do that in their own belief systems. I think that's where the difference is. I believe in God sure, but I don't allow that belief dictate strictly how I live, in what I do or do not do. I make those choices depending on what is working or isn't working for me at a given time, not because of a belief.

So given that, I don't think getting rid of religion would get rid of a belief in God. I just think how we perceive God would then change.

i'd kill off all of the humans and give the planet back to the animals

. . .
Agreed!! drool

Im with you at this point. We humans dont deserve to be in this world. There's so much hatred, pain n sufferings. The world is no longer a better place to live One should destroy everythin.!

there is also much goodness and caring

it can be hard to find sometimes but it is there - like little miracles that we overlook

day by day!

good to see you, and really I think u make a good point -as a species humans culd do more than they do to make the planet a better place

why I'm so glad to be romulanlaugh
better place you say. Ballers hangin out there makin a mess. Terrorists enjoys spreadin violence n Pain. A little girl crying cuz her parents died in a bomb blast. She has no future now. RUINED! And our leaders so nervous in an obvious way, the rest of the world just watches at the end of the day. What's goin on? People are mean. I didnt find atleast a single person with goodness, they are always mean. Some hate each other cuz they are just jeolus. Is there any word like HUMANITY? I think this word has no meaning in dictionaries nowadays.

Yeah, but I want to add one more thing, and I won't debate further promise. I might contend that you felt God not because of the church, but because of your faith, and you seeking it. That's something else I have realized in the last year, that.....it's not where one finds God that makes God real, but rather our seeking Him out. Seek and you shall find, know what I mean? It's why so many think they are right, because they all experience God through their faith and looking for God.

Take that as you will though. I'm glad you found God regardless. flowerforyou
