I'm "physically" and "geographically" removed from...well....where I'm from. More maybe later. You? -different place from where you grew up? -in a job different from where you intended? -your friend's views becoming different from yours? (as you grow more independent yet closer)? ? Not good OR bad..... What's CHANGED in your life lately? |

 I'm just 'removed'... I grew up in a similar lifestyle....about 1500kms further south..a tiny little suburb on the fringe of Sydney, with thousands of acres of Crown land, and National Parks behind us, and the golden sands, and awesome left handers in front of us. So I am removed from my place of origin, but not 'tone' of origin. I am the odd duck in a flock of seagulls as far as family goes....relatively speaking we are not very relatable...  I'm the urban hippie....all my cousins have short blonde hair, with twinsets and manicured nails, pretty shoes and glamourous lives..in expensive mansions and the 2.2 kids who are all Doctorates of something. Whereas I am removed from the yuppie...I never really fit the mould.. They play tennis....I shovel manure and wax lyrical about the benefits of permaculture.  J.O.B...?...I currently play with fruit and veg in a supermarket...I work 35 hours over 7 days, then play for 7 days in my gardens and with my friends...I don't do what I would have done...veternarian... My friends have diverse and varied opinions on most things...and we debate fiercely over a glass of red, a coffee, and a campfire. My life has changed...evolved...once I removed all the dead wood obligations and perceptions from my own Tree of Life.. |

What's CHANGED in your life lately? different place - yep different job - yep different friends - yep i moved away from the black hole of a town that i grew up in, didn't get the job i went to school for, and discarded all of my friends when i matured and they didn't. i just roll with the changes and we'll see where life takes me. . . . |

i hated the town i grew up in, didn't fit in
the few people i had considered as friends from H.S. turned out to not be friends by the time i was done with college. not that they changed, i just became aware of who they really were and their behavior was not in line with how i felt true friends should act. as i said, i matured. i grew as a person because i left the sheltered small town existence and learned to think for myself. when i looked at my old life with my new eyes i saw things that i never noticed before and realized that they were things that i didn't like. . . . |

I am also from a small town back east near Phila. but I left it 2 weeks (or less) after high school graduation so I remember it fondly and have only been back a handful of times to visit. My best friend still lives in that areas - though we seldom see each other or communicate these days because we live 600 miles apart. In the years between then & now I have lived in several places and really don't have many of what I would call true friends. I spend a lot of time with my sons and I have enjoyed some of the folks I've worked with over the years but none have really remained close. My place of residence changed recently as I moved to a new city - but I am too far from my sons so will be moving back as soon as I can - I've met some very nice people here - in that way I like it better here - but I am an hour from my kids |

When your parents are married 11 times between them, you get to see some real estate. I take a global view, as opposed to a personal one, so I do not always see eye to eye with acquaintances. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and I live at the beach in Oregon now. When you grow up near the beach, you seem always to be drawn back to it. Like a ..need. Fear and all :-) |

I have never lived more than about 40 miles from where I was born. But, I have traveled to 46 different states in the USA. I just like it here.

Not good OR bad..... What's CHANGED in your life lately? I grew up all over Texas! My parents moved around a bunch going wherever they could work & make the best living at a time. Then we settled in the "Golden Triangle" area near the coast! Had to move away to get my ex's toxic family outta my life! Yes, leaving changed me & I have grown up a great deal, but I still have my friends. got to spend time with them, their kids, and my family last weekend & it was wonderful :) Had a bonfire at my Mom's place in the country with them. Different job than I ever dreamed possible! I miss them, but will never return to that area. I still don't wanna leave Texas! Life is good right here, right now so I'm just enjoying it!  I miss the beach too  At least I have the river here
