online dating wether for actual relationships or just "hooking up" are you more cautious or more bold in your pursuits online?

More cautious online. I've been in enough of those situations to have developed a healthy (?) skepticism about everything I see on a dating site. There are some sites where it's safe to assume that whatever anybody says about themselves, the exact opposite is true.

I had never been on an online dating site, and I had no idea what I was doing, so just let everyone know everything and there was no caution. But then I tend to not be cautious in general.

I guess no I look back on the last 5 months and see that I was probably not cautious enough,

I talked to hundreds of men, told them everything they asked, I found one who I believed I loved, after 5 weeks of talking to him I travelled to America to meet him, stayed with him for 5 weeks, (I didnt event think that that could be dangerous, going to meet someone I didnt know in person. But now looking back, I can see why people warned me against it. But was totally oblivious at the time to why anyone would worry,
Now after being to America and seeing things that happen there, I would not have been so trusting. ( Well, I dont think I would ) and thankfully nothing bad did happen, and I did have a couple of Mingle friends who had given me numbers to contact them if I needed them, as they where worried, so I didnt see a problem, but then again, I guess running to them if I had a problem could have been another problem.
Hmmm very confusing this online dating.

I'm more wary of online cos i constantly see more reports on the news about rapes, or how people have been scammed by various dating sites. This is when you can benefit from meet-ups and know whether they were being truthful all along in their profiles.

But, i never judge until there's proof.

i have become so cautious now that I no longer date. Regardless of where I meet someone.

well i never did much "dating" to begin with and I must say...I don't really like the game of it-ugh!

I am much more causious than ever when it comes to choosing a potential mate though. Absolutely, no more Michaels will be considered and I want a man that is free of any drug addictions (legal or not) that has his own life (job, vehicles, friends, & hobbies) and will not need me every second of the day!

Not sure if this exists, but right now happy being me at least!
