So we find ourselves here at this point in life making friends online. We are all here for different reasons and took different paths to get here.

My question is; What is your passion now? What gets you up in the morning?

Mine is my "job"; so to speak. I continue to make financial sacrifices because I believe I can make a positive difference in the world. Sometimes it is a struggle and feels like a hopeless uphill battle. It is difficult to promote changes that some refuse to embrace because of short term economics and others simply don't get it. Anyway, I try to keep it fun and live within my means so I do not have those personal pressures as a distraction.

I get up in the mornings, cause I hate to lay in bed

Well that and I have to get my butt to work.

At least you have a time clock....this self employment thing is a drag
in some ways....others, it's great!

I'm not disciplined enough to be self employed. It would be nice to work from home (assuming you do) but I'd end up playing on Mingle all day.

I've spent the better part of my life self employed...but not doing what I am now...I'm finding it very hard to be disciplined....and Mingle does draw my attention...

Good for you. I admire someone who can have their own business. Especially by making things. Seems like everything now is computers and machines.

My Passion is food. It has replaced sex in my life. Now, I can't even get into my 'own' pants.

food for sex is not a great trade off...but you could set under a bridge with a sign that says...will trade sex for food...at least you'd be burning some calories...let us know how that works for ya

what gets me up in the morning? anticipation, the next thought, how to express it, what picture will paint and laughter..the hope of laughter...

who needs cookies and how can I make someone's day ..who will let me cook for them. Will I hear from my kiddos and will Miles come home? Did Ben get his package and maybe, just maybe I'll get to see little Joshua inspite of his mean dad. I'm a caregiver and I can't seem to get away from it, though I've tried. Sayin hello to my friends here that keep me connected with a good dose of someone else's reality.
and basically, I can only sleep so long, I like to keep moving.

LOVED the above, Vivienne. I work for myself too. And it really is a passion (except when I want to kill a client).

Okay a question if all right: how do you do that 'quote' thingy? E.g. copy the quote from one comment to another? All I did above was to cut and paste, but it just doesn't look as good as yours! Ha! My very best to all - and sure am glad I joined. You all seem like lovely folks... Tom
