yep, i can't fake me, and i am a little taller in person. :P

hehe.

People often tell me when they finally meet me, that my intelligence is only skin-deep, but my arrogance goes for the jugular. (Jugular women. Women who habitually carry two jugs, no matter where they go -- even to church.)

You wouldn't know by the few postings I have....but I have been told by more than one friend that I could make a career in politics as a filibuster (ha). They're probably right :-)

I'm the same online as I am in person... Possibly more upfront in person which I know some would find hard to believe....

I am very much the same online and in person. Only talks when I like to talk and silent when I don't feel like talking.

What you read in here is only a small slice of the real me. You guys seldom see my silly side.

Do you feel you are the same online as you are in person? Or do you act differently here than you would when meeting people in person? If so, why?

Do you let people's personalities in the forums affect the way you think of them?

Good post, and question...

Me? Yes, I am pretty much the same, although I am more charming in person happy

I think the way people post is the only way we have to percieve them - so it is the only way to form an opinion and/or think of them...

Yes, I am the same online as in person, except significantly louder, i think oh yeah and no pixels either

Yes, their personalities in the forums is the only way I know anyone on here..so I have nothing else to go off of, hopefully they would be true to themselves...

I agree that someone's personality is all we have to go from here! I am me wherever I am at.

Not for me. I am a sucher for pictures.

If a woman puts in a drawing of a beautiful unicorn=looking angel, I follow her posts. Heck she don't have to be a woman even, a guy here habitually uses for his profile main picture a sitting angel with huge wings, and dressed casually at a table in a beer-bar, she is slugging beer from the bottle and I read that guy's posts as if they were go spell.

I am very gullible and susceptible to female beauty, or the lack thereof, in the other direction.

And I can smell borderline personality disorder from a mile... but still can't tell the difference if a post had been left by someone inabriated on drugs or on booze.

Oh Wux, why do you tell me these things?...now every time you post in my threads I will be wondering, "Is he just drooling over my cute little pony Or evaluating me for personality disorders?" laugh

Your posts can definitely heat up a topic & they are often misinterpreted, but you generally have a good point and write well so it isn't difficult to read if they get lengthy!

axl...I love that about the forums...If I don't feel like posting I don't have to & no one bugs me about why they are getting ignored (being single helps with that too)!

agoodguy...I too feel I am much more charming in RL & it's much easier to get jokes from someone when you can see body language and hear tone/inflection in their voice!

I think the only difference is you got to see the real color of a person when your together as the say you will know the person in times of adversity. They may act sweet and kind, caring and conversant here but just see what happen when tough gets tougher.

My clone handles my online account. In real life, I am dull, boring, and so ugly.

Am absolutely exactly the same in person as I am on here...no point pretending to be someone I am not, and after all these years, can you imagine how exhausting it would be to maintain an illusion?

I guess the only difference is there are all the 3 dimensional subtleties and nuances, that are lacking in this format, however the really genuine ones always show themselves as authentic, and the fakers, or illusionists also show themselves quite quickly.

Or do you act differently here than you would when meeting people in person?

Nope...I am too lazy to try and pretend...way too much energy channeled in a negative way for this lazy bones.

Do you let people's personalities in the forums affect the way you think of them?

People always show themselves in the end...irrespective of their want to...so yes personality definitely comes into my perception of them...there's a very subtle energy field that surrounds a person's communication, and it shows.
