I moved to england about 6 months ago...yes what the hell I was thinking I know ! I went to a club yesterday all dressed up and went on the dance floor...whenever I approached a girl to dance with, they just go away, and one of them literally ran away !

Guys were looking at me and telling me "don't worry...its gonna be ok" like Im some kinda nerdy wierd looking full-a-pimples kinda guy !

Is it just that the english dont like foreign people, or is it something about me ?

I could use a girl's opinion on this.

@Shayna: After I came and started talking to other foreign people at work, apparently england is not very foreign-friendly ! and I have joined one of the online dating sites and paid money for it (never did that in my life before) and the girls specifically say on their profiles on their date specs (caucasian only, and british nationals only) !!

Its a skinhead (Neo-Nazi), your skin looks light enough that they might mistake that in a club. Wear a black knit hat or something equally cool.

I think the problem is cultural. I worked in district where a lot of foreigners went to clubs trying to pick up on local girls, and failed miserably due largely to subtle aspects of their body, mannerism, styles of approach, speech. Most of them needed to first learn how to carry themselves like the locals did before the women would even look at them.

It wasn't always xenophobia at play, its just that different ways of carrying yourself gives a different message in different cultures. Straight guys from another country may come off as gay, polite guys from another country come off as spineless, confident guys come off as arrogant pricks - due to cultural differences in body language.





Thats happened to me, in my travels. Worse - at the time I had a really nice pair of black boots that I wore everywhere...

Oh, yeah - and the guys from other countries had no sense of local fashion. Occasionally that made them really cool in the eyes of the ladies, but most of the time they just looked lame. So maybe you should dress like the locals, too.

By "white supremacist" you mean Im pro-white and nothing else ? its strange but thats what they all stand for !! Its just a hair style to me, but if thats true then arent we supposed to be on the same side ???

Referencing other cultures, I have friends from all over the world and have never ever had any problems with them or with flirting with girls for that matter...thats why I dont think its me !

BUT it is your image that is scary.

In England, look around you at the guys who are getting the girls attention. How are they dressed, what is their hair like? Do they have a beard like yours?

My first impression of your image, which can be changed by the way, is that I half expected a tatto of a teardrop or a gang symbol on your face or neck. You look like a gangster or gang member. You look like an outlaw.

I hope you weren't wearing shades in the bar. Hiding your eyes suggests that you are shifty, and hiding something.

Now in the right environment where you find women who are looking for a "bad boy" or gangster type, you might do well.

I suspect you adopted your image because your actual face looks quite innocent and harmless, and that you wanted to look more intimidating among your peers. (other men)

You don't need to "look" tough. Just be tough. Look like a pushover, but be equipped with the ability to defend yourself. Learn Karate. Be tough, look sweet... like you are.

For me, my opinion is, get rid of the beard. I like the five o' clock shadow type. If you shaved your head, and can grow hair, grow it back.
If not, hey bald men can be real sexy too.

boss its a uk thing its the way you walk up to them trust me im from the uk. the way dancefloor dating over here goes is a lot different from the us trust me. i beat them off with a stick when im in the us (apparently the accent helps lol) in the uk you have to be drunk out your skull with your shirt half off having wet yourself and holding a bacardi breezer for them to look at you over here.
try another approach its a slightly different culture remember that

I dont have any tattoos nor part of a gang or was wearing shades in that club ! Hell I didnt even have the beard on...I went there wearing a nice shirt and a jacket that I often wear to work.

I am very self confident, and dont give a damn of what people think of me...I dont have delicate girly features that I need to hide behind sunglasses to look scary, this is just a picture ! its not like I wear those glasses when I go to sleep or take a ****.

Okay, well then if the picture you posted here is nothing like how you looked in that bar, there is no way to make an assessment. You sure can't tell much from a picture.

Go a little deeper on the tan, girls in England seem to like guys with brown skin, they think we're exotic ;)

I've friends from England and friends from the US who lived in England and I've never heard of any of them having that kind of experience

I feel a bit down to think that many Americans think us English girls are like that!
It all goes down to the club and place you go to. Or simply down to the amount of alcohol those girls had, us being such hearty drinkers.
Don't let that stuff get to you, You'll meet the right person and personally, I don't think meeting someone in a club is ever going to turn into something real.
