Most people make judgments. They just don't like to admit it.

People who preach "You shouldn't judge" or say "I don't judge" are full of crap.

Yep, that's a judgment.

I'm sick of being told that I should not "judge."

I think one means they try not to pass judgement. Sometimes it is hard. Good lord have you ever been to a Walmart.......

I make my judgements based on factual evidence. Outside of that, if I don't know a person well enough to pass judgement, I give them the benifit of the doubt until I got enough to make an educated judgement.

ive been known to be judgemental, its a character defect, and i do my best not to be but sometimes i fall short.

Of course I judge people. That's how we decide who we're going to loan money to. Or hire to do a job. Or decide who to go out on a date with.

PEOPLE have come to think,and FEEL,,THEY CAN AND WILL JUDGE ANOTHER,,because they THINK,,THEY ARE SO MUCH MORE OF A HUMAN,,than the others here..

I raised my kids to NOT SEE differences in others,,who were short,tall, thin,heavy, smart dumb, slow, challenged, or EVEN SEEM TO MY KIDS THEY WERE DIFFERENT..

TRULY man,,its not a big deal to most these days,,,BUT,,live in my shoes for thirty years TRYING to SHOW OTHERS,,words hurt,,,its more a me and my life's work,,than anything else..

I agree, as much as people say they "dont judge" they honestly do, like a friend of mine recently told me, that he "doesnt judge people" then the next thing i know hes judging someone right in front of them. Im not saying that I dont judge, I am pretty sure i do the same thing

ok here is my thought (and it's only MY thought lol)

I will get impressions of people but IMO a judgement is banging the gavel and case closed.

I don't use my impressions to determine that it's the final say so.

I have gotten bad impressions from people people and they turned out to be some of my friends.

Whether you call it impressions or judgement is up to others, but I wait to see if my impressions are right or wrong (in my mind at least) and unless it's really bad....I rarely bang the gavel

I guess to a point you have to make judgements about people.
Obviously if some man holds a gun to my head and asks for money I am probably going to judge him as being dangerous

There will always be people who i dont feel comfortable around, because of my own judgement or because i have been warned to be careful.
There will always be people who I trust with my children because of my own judgement.

But these are things that I do for my own protection.

I treat everyone the same, reguardless of what they do or say, there are some people who i hate what they do, but I would never hate them.

However just because i am friendly to everyone and apparently to friendly a lot of the time, but I still have to make a judgement to protect myself and my children to keep us safe.

So I think everyone judges somehow. its a necessity for self preservation.

As long as you remember that the person you are making judgements on is still a person with feelings, you have not walked in their shoes, you have not seen what has put them where they are, and everyone deserves a chance regardless of their past. A judgement out of selfish reasons that is hurting someone is always wrong, a judgement because of looks or colour or anything about a person life can never be right. It is not your business especially if you are voicing it to someone else.
A judgement over something that my effect your own life or childrens, that just involves taking care, that is common sense.

I make judgments. Sometimes harshly.

Most of the time I keep them to myself, because I have very little respect for my own opinion.

I take time to judge people. First impressions can be wrong. But people are their own condemnation.

Even if you are not opening your mouth to speak about it, if you are capable of semi-rational thought, then you judge people every day.

Simpletons and savants are off the hook.
