I understand you, sometimes I feel the same, I wish I could quit my job in one split second but I dont want to wind up in the unemployment line. Its Scary.

But I agree you should not let anyone intimidate you, there is laws that protect us from that too. that is why human resource exists, anyone who feels they are intimidated by their boss or coworker can file for a greviance and sexual harrasment.

I lost my job 2 years ago, and every corporate door after that stayed shut. But a friend of mine gave me a book called "No More Mondays" and it helped me see the options we have inside ourselves.

So many people see losing a job as a negative, but it can be the biggest positive in your life.

I started my own company a couple months ago. No viable income yet, but after the holidays it will really kickoff and I am doing what I enjoy not only a part of that with someone else's job description.

Blessings to you flowerforyou

Thank you all for your support. Today started out kind of weird, felt scared, ungrounded maybe and very stressed that I cut off my only income but after a few cups of tea and talking to another ex employee I felt better. Part of what scares me is that I have been looking to leave that job for months and so have been job hunting all alone...just not much out there that I am qualified to apply for. The flip side I guess maybe that even though I was very unhappy and stressed by my job I didn't pursue many of the few I did find. Guess I had a case of "better the devil you know". Now I will have to be serious and try for what ever seems even remotely possible.

Thanks again everyone, you are the greatest!

I used to meet a lot of unemployed friends in the unemployment lines in one state because about all of the lines available were temporary jobs. Then moved to another state to a permanent job with a shaky foundation. Pay is less but the perks of the job have been in my own personal growth as a human. It reminds me when I was a school bus driver and I loved driving the bus. The only real problem with it that I had was they expected me to pick up children. Other than picking up the children I really liked the job. I hope you find work that you will like doing and an employer that you like working for.

Your job is like a relationship, if its good and fun, and all that,,YOU LOVE IT.

If its bad to feel your there in it, and no respect, no one caring anymore, no big smiles or any FUN at all,,,ITS TIME TO MOVE ON.

AT ANY AGE AT ANY COST,,,YOU JUST DO IT!

Life is to short as to NOT FEEL PLESANT when THERE!

GOOD LUCK AND BE NOW MORE YOU!!!And relaxed in living life..

Just trust your gut. You know yourself best and it sounds like this was a good decision for you.

Life will work itself out as long as you stay true to yourself!

Don't you just love that FUKIT moment?...6 sheets to the wind, vulnerable, and a hell of an adrenaline rush.

life has a fantastic way of providing exactly what you need, if rarely what you thought you wanted...

Be big, be daring, and be ALL of you...x

Hi All, I haven't been on for an evening or two so wanted to thank those of you who responded since my last post here. I really appreciate all the support and Yes Jess it was a very good FUKIT moment. I think the best part may have been when I was told I needed to turn in a receipt in order to get reimbursed the $2.10 I spent on a store key so that I could lock the dang doors at night. Told them to keep their freaking 2 dollars and walked out of the 'meeting' and the store.

So far no luck but this is a bad time to be looking what with most people focused on this coming weekend. I look everyday but have given myself permission to not try to much and not stress about it until after the first of the year. Sure hope something turns up in Jan. though!!!

I have not posted here in a little bit, however, here goes: I had a job doing what I loved, but the state decided I should not do it anymore. It is a tough job market out here in Cali too. As a veteran, my job search should be a little easier for me because our state places military veterans first and gives up priority in job searches, unemployment programs and such. However, this not about me.

Having a job could be stressful, especially if you hate what you are doing. It is ok to do something you want to do and be free from the stress of doing work you hate.

Look at this as a time to reflect on what you want to really do.My veteran counselor told me to write out a list of life skills I have and apply those to a job search. If you want, that is something that you can do with your free time.

No one should intimidate you nor should you have to settle for it.Life is way too short for that apple to have to be in your barrel.. Best of luck to you and be at peace with yourself whatever you do.

I too, drove a school bus. I loved it, but there were days where children had no respect for me and I would not tolerate it. I got into things with my supervisor because parents would call and complain about bus drivers having that power to toss kids off the bus, which I did a lot. Parents used to think their children were angels and can do no wrong, even though there were cameras on the bus catching them in the act. I retired from that 2 years ago because they phased in early retirement and I was tired of all the politics and griping that went on. Just a stepping stone to other things and valuable experience for me.waving waving

Thank you! That 'life skill list' is a very good idea, may just give it a try!

Your going to love this...the woman who was the assistant manager often talked about her c_ _ t, using that word, also about the vast number of condoms she and her many (with details) partners went through in a week. She 'joked' about my 20 year old co-workers
c_ _ k was so small that he couldn't keep a condom on. She was so crude, it really offended me and others but we just kept our mouths shut for the longest time. Finally, while talking to my manager about information I had been given that indicated that this same woman might be stealing from the cash drawer, all the other stuff came out. The next day it was announced that she had voluntarily stepped down. She lost 2- 4 hours from her schedule, lost a lot of pain in the butt responsibility, maintained all of her full time benefits... some slap on the wrist that was. Oh and mind you I was not taken at my word, my co-workers were questioned before any action took place.

I am so glad I don't have to go back there!!!

I totally feel for you. I just had to quit mine too. Nightmare supervisor and HR is useless. I hope you have a merry Christmas and that everything turns out of you. My nerves are shot because of those people I had to work with. Now I'm worried about everything that happens because I needed to walk away from that job for sanity sake. Follow your heart. God provides.
