Would we be better off?

I got to wonder about this!

America would be better off if we could limit the lawyers and keep them from initiating frivilous litigation.

We'd be better off if we got rid of the ACLU and other anti-American outfits like them.

Tonka - attorneys like doctors are employed by others - doubt attorneys initiate frivilous litigations for themselves(well maybe some), but I also assume they are hired to be represented by others. no?

How can you limit attorneys from filing claims, suits, etc., isn't that their jobs? Are they not employed by others (normally)? Shouldn't the employer be responsible not the employee for the frivilous ligitations?

just asking

Yes and no. Some lawyers are so crooked, they dont need a client to file a suit. There are many cases where lawyers see the chance for big money and jump on the bandwagon for themselves.

doctors are valuable when someone gets ill
lawyers are valuable when people are wronged (legally)

both professions are necessary to keep balance

no profession will be able to completely exclude crooks , liars, cheats, or any other type of character flaw

OP: your statement implies that their are no lawyers that benefit society...

really?

I agree some lawyers are predatory, frivolously pursuing lawsuits at the expense of others... but not ALL lawers are such evil!

If we killed every group based on stereotypes, noone would be left!...

Tonka that applies to all - there are good people and bad people throughout...

who will place the limits in place? are they trustworthy? who shall benefit? etc... doubt there is "a deed" that can please everyone, someone will always complain, cry foul, etc...

My attorney so far has done everything 11th hour 59th minuet and then wants me to try to settle for less below the minimum to settle out was agreed upon. She started waving all kinds of fees at me and I am looking into calling her on it when I got to mediate and the worst joke is that the defendant was ordered to mediate with me and they are trying to hit me with the bill. And she expects her 45% out of my settlement. before she said I had a case and now she is back peddling on me.

I refused to pay a doctor for lab tests I never got my copy of (not related). So I got to wonder what the point of having corruption in the justice system like this is worth. It is clear that the "Process" has intentionally been made into an industry so confusing that a layman cannot navigate it at all. The fees are horrendous and over blown, and I love how they can charge so damn much money for .15s! I love how this whole thing can make victims out of victims!

explode

BTW we are supposed to serve on a jury for next to nothing?????

personally I think we should just go back to the days where might equaled right..if you beat the crap out of your accuser then you were considered innocent...sure, it wasnt fair, but it was efficient, and no one charged you a settlement feeohwell

What is the difference between a dead lawyer and a dead cat?

Skid marks before the cat.
