How much effort do you put into dressing well?

I'm fashion-challenged ... never cared much about it. I just wear what I think is cute and not so much what is particularly "in-style"

Okay, I can see we need some definations.

Fashion is what the clothing buisness offers each season.

Style is your own unique look.

Personally, I dress to look my best all the time. I may jump on a trend once in a while, but that doesn't mean I wore parachute pants in the 80s.

I know what works on my body and I know what doesn't. I also know the things I can wear that others cannot and why they work on me and not someone else. I am stylish.

I can dress well, and am clean, but not into fancy or dressed up. May wear makeup once a year, and that's a big maybe anymore. Hair usually gets put up in a bun or ponytail.

I wear what I'm comfortable in.

I don't particularly like much of the fashion styles I see a lot of lately. My ripped jeans apparently aren't ripped the right way. It's been about 4 years since I bought a dress, because I can't find the simple style I prefer as it's not currently "in".

I never even think about stuff like that. Just throw on whatever I feel like wearing at the moment, and that's enough for me.

Well by that definition everyone is stylish- even if their style is sweatpants.

not stylish at all,

I care more about the substantial stuff, like hygiene and family

what society deems the fashion at the time doesnt concern me much, I wear what a) matches b) is clean c)is appropriate for the occasion

Not at all. Sweat pants don'tlook good on anyone.

The question is: do you put forth any effort to look your best in making your clothing choises?

Living in one of the fashion capitals of the world; NYC affords us much creativity and ready-to-wear clothing.

I love fashion, but I like to create my own style vs. duplicating what ever is "in". I don't like looking like everyone else.

I don't spend hours on end getting ready, but I do enjoy feeling/looking good/feminity!!!

I would say yes, I don't mind dropping some cash on stuff I really like.

Absolutely. I know what styles look good on me and make sure to utilize that knowledge.

ex .. A lot of women wear fruuffy clothing. Not for me. Many women wear long, flowing full skirts. Does nothing for my figure. I wear pencil skirts.

To know your style and apply it = sharp look smokin

I bought used copy of "Dress for Success"

Best .50 I ever spent.

I can look good for any occasion.

Me either.
I used to be stylin'.
But when someone steals everything you own,
including all your clothes, shoes, purses,
etc. and you cannot replace them, you get
over fashion pretty fast.

A friend, in all his helpfulness, gave me
these big old 'JESUS SAVES' t-shirts that
had gotten fade lines on them after sitting
in a shop window. I turn them inside out to
wear them outside. People are happy to point
this out.

If I win the lottery, I may silk up :-)
