OK So after being freshly introduced to the internet dating world,and then doing it for about 8 months,I have to say I have met one great lady (whom it didnt pan out but we are great friends) a few crazies (yes there are some crazy people out there) and more than a few people who put up false pictures and profiles and still wanted to meet! I did so and ended the meet soon thereafter. I'm having a problem understanding the motive behind this behavior,has anyone else come across this scenario?

I've never understood it ... it isn't like you aren't going to notice. But some people are insecure I guess and are hoping to win you over with their personality. Of course ... liar ... isn't on my list of favorable attributes so it never works.

You will make yourself crazy if you try to analyze the pathology of others.

I rotate mine almost every week to show that it is really me and my pix are recent. I am skeptical of those that use one picture for 6 months or longer. I’ve been on the site almost 2 years and some still have ONE pic from 2 years ago. I wonder about that – maybe they stole it as part of their fake profile. Who knows?

Use common sense; ask for more pictures than just what someone posts, etc.

It happens – just move on, and don’t waste the negative energy trying to figure out “why”. More than likely it's to scam you or they are playing out a fantasy in their mind.

yay one guy told me he met up with a chic from here and she was like 400 lbs and had used her roomates pic. Thats just wrong. I think it is mean, if your not bold enough to post real pics of yourself than at least have the decency to stay home or admit it before the date. If a guy thinks hes going out with cindy crawford then you better be cindy crawford. Not that being big and beautiful is a crime, it is if you are lying though. I met a guy with a unibrow. mortified.

I know it retarded to let this bother me but do you have any other clues on what to look for (same ole pics is a good one) any others?

Some people say get on a web cam if they won't do that then they're usually lying.. Cams cost around $15 on up.. Some ask when the pics were taken, how old they are... Most people put a timeline of pics on their profiles... Profile pics change a lot with most people, new looks, parties, a new year, etc.
