Conversation With A Tree

I like being round but some think I look better square.
Squirrels don't think I look fat but just glad I am there.
Limbs and branches I think really make me look hot.
But what really frustrates me is this one little knot.

The bugs and insects crawl all over me each day.
I guess I really wouldn't have it any other way.
My root system grows deep into mother earth.
It has always been that way since my birth.

It is so nice when the wind blows through me.
There are times when it is just nice being a tree.
There are days when some try to cut me down.
Grown used to being planted in the ground.

I am really fond of the nests that birds make.
But this one woodpecker I really can't take.
Tried talking to an owl but it just says who.
I try to ignore it; I don't know what else to do.

Sometimes I get tired from standing all the time.
I used to feel more flexible in my young prime.
But a tree has to do what a tree has to do.
Not that this would make any sense to you.

This was a female tree I talked to one time.

The One True love.

As she walked through the sand the waves kept up with her pace
It appeared that a light broke through the clouds, and shined upon her face
She walked so free without a worry or a care
The feeling I felt deep inside of me, was more than I could bear
I could sense the calmness in her soul
I could see her heart was pure as gold
The very thought of her would take my breath away
I was left speechless I had nothing to say.
For words would have ruined such a beautiful sight
This mystery woman whose face glowed from the light
The beauty she held, she was not aware
I saw all of this from a distance, as I tried not to stare
My heart was racing and my soul cried out
I wanted her know, I wanted to shout
I never felt love like this before
As she calmly walked on the sandy shore
I never felt such an emotion, it was such a strain
It seared through my heart and sent shockwaves through my brain
I saw my true love, my soul mate
She passed me by, and now it’s too late
If only I could have had the courage, If only I would have known
I could have been living a dream, instead of writing this poem.

I can understand this up to the 'sexy' part.

I think of acceptance vs expectation ... and an open hand ...

My first thought is of my kids, my second thought is of pain. I guess one cannot exist without the other. Like light and dark.

how does this all fit together ... and what is real and what is just my imagination being stroked by Harlequin and Hollywood?

Then ... I ask ... is love really just another four letter word being misused like so many other four letter words?
