I am a cna. We have the registered nuts, The little peon nuts, the certifiable nuts almost and then we have the real nuts.laugh You don't have to be nuts to work here but it helps.

Being a little nuts really helps when working with the elderly. You have to have a sense of humor on that job, don't you? I take it you work 2nd trick? I always did & put them to bed. That's cool that you're a CNA! When I was still able to work, nurse aides didn't have to be certified so I guess you could call me a peon. Yep! I was a very tired peon but I'll always treasure the memories when I worked in that home! happy

I work third shift. Back in 1981 when I worked my first job in the nursing home which was a different nursing home I didn't have to have the license then. I was just called an orderly. As soon as I was called back from a layoff at an union job where you can imagine the pay and benefits were better I left the nursing home having worked there for three months. In 1987 everything changed dramatically in the nursing profession. Heck, as a house parent working for Saint Elizabeth Anne Seton home for the mentally challenged I could even dispense meds in 1983. I am seriously considering a class for CMA, now. The new license, certified medical assistant would allow me to dispense meds under a nurse's supervision, of course, but would possibly give me a pay raise. Since my student loan deferment is fixing to run out one I have an ulterior motive, naturally. I am glad you didn't take offense. One of our nurses just got a job as a teacher. She doesn't really like men but she said she liked me. She was excited that she has almost got her master's degree in teaching and being a nurse was just a stepping stone to what she really wanted. A lot of men don't like her but her and me get along fine. I was joking with her about her master's degree and that I would have to call her master instead of nurse. She said it was OK for me to call her master, now.laugh

What was really fun is that she has a sense of humor when it comes to religion. I said that the Bible says to call no man master and since she is a woman it is okay to call her master and she got the humor in it.laugh

It all depends on what you are dating for.
Why can't you just look at it like being friends & let go of the age thing.
I have always tried to stay with in 10 years either side of my own age.
There might have been a few exceptions?

Arm candy is great, but to many sweets will rot your teeth.

I like that thought! happy

Trust me I have found my share of jerks, but I am not willing to stay with them ,whereas when I was younger I tended to overlook a lot more than I will now.
Wonder if anybody else feels that way too?

Oh, yes!
