I have been hurt and let down by men in my life but i would not ever allow a man too truly break my heart.
I think when you have experienced true heart break like the lost of a love one death tragedy or illness then you become stronger about what is really worthy of true heartbreak, love hurts sometimes but most of us heal from it and there is always hope for new love in too come your wayflowerforyou smooched xx

This may seem like an obvious question but I was just wondering about it recently...

Is it safe to say that the vast majority of people, not only on this site, but in life, have had their heart broken severely by someone they love at least once in their life?

Not that I've taken a survey or anything, but I think that's a pretty safe assumption.

I think another thing that happens is we allow it to become a sort of "defining event" in our lives; to the point that many of us tend to embellish/exaggerate it over the years, so as to give it more of a sense of gravitas than it might otherwise merit.

You can only hurt as much as you love. I am in intense pain currently, but I will not give up hope of finding a man to truly love me.
Three times my heart has been torn to shreads. Now if I can remember to give myself the time to actually get to know a man before giving him my heart, maybe I will find my happily ever after and someone to appreciate what I have to offer instead of using me because I want so much to be held.

I honestly haven't, but then again
I don't think I ever care enough.

Yes, it is fair to say.
If you have loved, you know pain.

Except for this guy, who has frozen
his assets before the ball..

Almost everyone has if they've been in a few relationships. Relationships that end amicably or peacefully are somewhat rare. Live, love, and learn.

I was incredibly young when Kung Fu was cancelled.

Did it break your heart that Bruce Lee didn't get the part? Did you hold it against David Carradine for stepping in for Bruce? Long live Kwai Chang Caine.

Your first break up is always the hardest you think your world is crumbling and you just want to die. It's a new kind of hurt but what's life without a couple scapes and bruises along the way right?

As you get older you only get hurt as much you want to. For instance, my last break up was very hard we have a child together but I have a life to live. Time to move on. Smell the flowers and enjoy life for once. Enjoy watching my beautiful little girl grow up.

About 20 years ago I came to the understanding that no one ever broke my heart but I allowed my heart to be broken, often times because of unrealistic expectations.

I go into every friendship or relationship with the knowledge that it may not last. I will always love her completely and without conditions and I just live each moment as if it maybe our last. This is not the easiest thing to do but it has allowed me to have some, not many but some, extremely intense and wonderful friendships and partners.

I am single today and hope to have one more intense friendships that may grow into something wonderful and lasting. I am not specifically looking for this but that is the hope. No expectations but do give it your all and try to enjoy and learn from you shared love.

I also gain solace knowing that there are so many of us in this world that have been hurt so I am not the only one and it is uniquely human.

I truly believe and practice this and my life has been so much more fulfilling. I would also like to add that most of my best friends in life have been women. I am sort of a man hater since many, if not most, men are pigs. At least the ones I have known and I am one (not a pig but a man lol) so I know. Yes there are a lot of wonderful men in the world but we are tremendously outnumbered in kindness by women.

Enjoy life, enjoy love and yes, sometimes it is gonna hurt. Over and over again but never give up.

Nope not broken; ripped out of my chest and stomped on. Never been the same since.
