Have you ever had a dream or life goal you were determined to reach, but at some point had to admit that you were not cut out for it? Did you ever have to make changes within yourself to reach your dream, rather than just accept that you were not going to reach it?

My current goal is a lot like that...however, I don't think I'm not cut out for it, I know I just have to continue learning about it and eventually it can become a reality.

The learning part is really kicking my *** though.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at too. But, when I can see even the smallest progress, it's such a rewarding feeling because it encourages me to stay focused and determined.

Yeah, I do that too. Haha. Smallest bit of progress and I'm skipping, but then it is back to reality...have to learn how to capitalize on that small bit more often until it is a much larger bit of progress.

Best of luck, friend, our road is very difficult.

Yeah, but if the smallest rewards can make us feel so good, imagine how awesome it's going to feel when we finally do make it.

I used to dream that I would fall in love with a man that loved me back. Now I know that's just not going to happen. ohwell

Did you ever have to make changes within yourself to reach your dream, rather than just accept that you were not going to reach it?

I also used to dream about being an author, but I was afraid to have anyone read my stuff. Writing is very exposing and I'm a very private person. To put my words on display was difficult to say the least, but I've finally conquered that fear and am writing my first book. Will I become an "author"? Don't know if I'll get published or not, but I WILL write this book and let someone read it!

One of my goals has always been to take naps and get paid for it.

Don't look like that ones going to happen.

That's awesome! You can always buy a kit to make your own book, or look into self publishing. Blogging is pretty popular as well. You could even write an e-book. There's all kinds of possibilities.

I have a goal of reaching the top of a 'mountain' that I've been working on. We call the top the 'sphinx' because that's what it looks like from the bottom. It's goes from a rocky trail to big, huge rocks that ya have to maneuver your body through...
About 3/4's of the way I get dizzy, my stomach turns and I can't go any further. It's really high up and as much as I want to get up there I'm thinking now maybe not. I can push my body to do it, I just get feeling sick and it's a long way down...if I were to fall.

So, kinda bummed..gonna try a few more times though.
It's more a goal than a dream, although the view from the top would be like a dream.

I bet the view would be worth it.

Sometimes the most expediant thing to do is to step back & use your cognescience & awareness to determine the best way to reach the top.If you think about it,you've already determined which paths don't work.Nothing good comes for free.

I always wanted to be as wonderful a mom as mine is, but have had to accept that I'm never going to be able to have babies. Just don't have the kind of money that it takes to see fertility specialists. I developed a really special relationship with my exbf's daughter, but now that he's gone I guess I've lost that, too. I just hope I set an example for her that helps her to make decisions out of kindness and consideration for others. I love that kid.

It used to be that I wanted to be a self-made millionaire, with fast cars, beautiful women, big houses, and large boats....

Now, I find that I just want to find somebody to grow old with and be content and happy, and money just doesn't have any appeal anymore. My single biggest goal: see my boy graduate from college.

This is kind of the other side of the same coin.

How about realizing your dream is not what you want at all?

Be careful what you wish for.

Some wishes are worth fighting for though.

The way this trail, hike, mountain is in place...there are only a couple ways to the top. The other option is a very narrow trail along the edge and I have tired that one. I got dizzy even quicker taking that route. The way I'm doing it is the only other way to the top...

My dream was to move out of this small town and see if there is something more beautiful and fulfilling out there. But i don't know if it will happen because I don't want to take my little girl away from her daddy. He has his heart set on stay here the rest of his life. So who knows what the future holds.
