Topic: Original Thought,,and the Lexicon | |
---|---|
I just made a statement (let's say) "somewhere else".
It seems that I am insecure (not with observations themselves), but with whether I can pawn them off as "my own"". My epilogue to everything lately seems to be (plagiarized somewhere..I'm sure). I know we are a conglomerate of everything before us. The prefix of "con" just bothers me. I don't really have a point...was just looking for reaction (like everyone I guess). I suppose.....to make it "fine point discussable"......Do you think "original thought" exists (much) these days? How do you see hope for this in the future? |

I detect some insecurity in that statment. Do you think "original thought" exists (much) these days? How do you see hope for this in the future? All thoughts have already been thunk, so no, their all reruns now. |

Okay......
Sounds like most of us. We are for the most part the same.... It's the minute differences that identify individuality. |

Yes, original thought exists, I feel. We do it all the time. We quote those before us because something resonated with us, we were able to capture meaning in another's thoughts. Those who come after us will be quoting us when we have those rare, profound and elusive moments of 'kinda being enlightened.'

Tolstoy, Twain, Bach...Love Richard Bach! Just because it's someone else's quote doesn't mean it can't also be your truth. I like that I share a 'truth' with another...even if it's a dead guy that wrote about a seagull. |

J.L. Seagull......was a speed freak!!!!!
Ya see?.......not sure if "that's" original. |
yeah, he may have been, I think maybe some OCD..but hey, it worked for him.
Speed freak I suppose not so original, in your context..I believe so. |
J.L. Seagull was before such diagnosisisisiseees.
I think the term at the time was hyper-active....or hyper-something DIVE Bird....DIVE! |
I always thought if they could make a movie from JL Seagull, why hasn't one been done for 'Illusions?'
I'm gonna ponder that.... |
'Standing on the shoulders of giants'? .
What is new, the original...the future is built on the past's foundation which is sometimes laid by others. Not such a bad thing...learn from the past and go forward. Other's thoughts may inspire new thoughts in someone...does that mean those new thoughts are plagiarized? Should the same be said of thoughts inspired by nature...or color...or physics? |
