I have been writing a prisoner for bout a month now. Some look down at me because I have chose to write to him. I don't understand what the prob is. There is NOTHING wrong with reaching out to someone. I went to go visit with him last weekend and plan on going again. I hate how some people are so closed minded when it comes to this.

Do what feels right to you, don't worry about what others think, do or say, if ya do you'll just keep banging your head on that brick wall.

Thank you! He has said he loves hearing from me, I enjoy learning bout him an his past. He has always been straight up with me. Told me what he did ect. He is a good guy.. just made a mistake that's all. Everyone does. It bothers me that some people have called me stupid that I would write to "a person like him." He is a person too!

I don't see anything wrong with it if the guy messed up once and got punished for it.
But i do think it depends on what he did...i.e. a repeat sex offender on children or killer as opposed to a thief during bad times.

I agree!! One time mess up is something we all do but if he is a repeat offender i.e. rapist, molester, abuser, etc, LOOK OUT!!! I know this from a couple ladies experience he will use U and abuse U!!!

This is the only thing he has ever done. They throw the book at him..he got 22 years!! He robbed a store at gun point an the gun went off, he didn't mean for it to go off. The female was shot but did not get hurt bad. She is still alive. I just don't understand why he got so much time, that's crazy! I did all of my research on him an there is nothing else in his past. He has been locked up for 11 years in November. An he is going to try to file to get out in 2 years. 22 years is a little much for first time offense. I know a lot about him, his past an his plans for when he gets out.

I tend to agree that a molester of any kind wouldnt

with alot less of a charge on his shoulders!

Seriously? I always heard of otherwise "normal" folks reaching out to people that don't deserve to live amongst us. I finally have an opportunity to ask some questions?

1) How did you find him? I'm a lil confused about how this friendship came to be.
2) are you attracted to him?
3) How did he manage to convince you what he did wasn't serious?


Feel free to comment....BTW I think he's lucky.... Not in finding you ... He's lucky I wasn't the judge... 40yrs hard labor + no visitation + No Internet/phones or any form of outside communication.

He didn't mean for the gun to go off? It was just a flesh wound really? He never did anything like this before?(researched)......

you are young, you are pretty, but you are justifying the act of a convicted fellon? And justifying his actions to yourself and everyone else?

Perhaps you should look inward and ask yourself why you feel the need to enable him... he's in prison for goodness sake - for a violent fellony where a person was shot!

1- I was on facebook an meant to click "like" on some ad an by mistake clicked the ad to write a prisoner, so I looked around on the site, found his profile. It stuck out to me so after about a month of arguing with myself I sent a letter out.
2- He is cute but nothing more then friends will come of this, I have told him this an also told him that I will never send anything but letter.
3- He told me straight out what happen. The gun's safety was off an he didnt know till after it went off. His finger slipped an hit the trigger. You may not believe it but I do. He never lied to me before.

It is serious an he admitted to all of it, even in court. How you think is messed up! I hope you never make a mistake an get caught an throw into jail, I hope the judge is nice. You NEVER know when you or someone you love will end up in jail. It happens. An yes I did plenty of research, there are public records you can pull up for free. They give you everything even speeding tickets.

I'm not justifying anything just telling what happen.

My dear, robbing a store with a LOADED gun and not "meaning" for it to go off is not a mistake. It is a felony. Do not feel sorry for him getting 22 years for accidentally shooting someone while in the process of knowingly committing a felony. To say he's never lied to you is an absurd statement as you would have no way of knowing if he has or not. I'm not knocking you for writing to the guy, but visiting is taking it a bit far IMO. You're young and it seems like a little naive. Be careful

i like that "He robbed a store at gun point an the gun went off, he didn't mean for it to go off". i`m sure hes not the only armed robber to say that in court in his deffence while facing 22 years, but if he didnt mean for it to go off then WHAT WAS IT LOADED FOR?

yeah, "shes still alive" and "didnt get hurt bad" but i`m sure shes suffered and will continue to suffer physiological problems long after hes freed out of prison

As for me ending up in jail.... For what.... J walking?
But I'll tell ya what... If ever I decided to point a loaded unlocked weapon at someones face, yes I'll be ready to pull the trigger just like he did.

As for the public records of criminal past... Please direct me to the section of his past that he didn't get arrested for?. For all you know, Ted Bundy is what you found.
