In the first attempt at organic gardening the plants just reproduce themselves. But then when Adam and Eve are added they have to be told to be fruitful. Whats up with that?

You gotta relate ourselves to fruits in this instance. A good apple tree produces good fruits, a bad apple tree produces bad fruits.

We are the tree, the fruits we bare are the actions and things we do in our lives.

Apple trees that don't produce good fruit are cut down and burned. Same will happen with people.

God told them to be fruitful back in Genesis 1:28 and it takes them to Genesis 4:1 to get fruitful. A lot of fruiting going on in the first chapters of Genesis.

BEHOLD....in the beginning Adam and Eve lacked the knowledge of lust, and after they ate from the tree and gained the knowledge of lust God declare lust to be an abomination...without lust sex then becomes a chore ...so God reminded them they had chores that needed to be done

because Lust is one of the seven deadly sins religious people are only suppose to have sex with their married spouse in the missionary position to make babies and not for sinful pleasures

who was talking about sex? We were talking about being fruitful. Being fruitful is doing God's will, has nothing to do with sex or anything of such.

you as a religious person must first find a woman that's semi-sane and then you marry her...next in some private abode you two get naked or take the bottom half of your clothing off...

you will see something between the woman legs that look strange but for some odd reason you just can't stop looking at it...we will call that the forbidden fruit...

next take your tallywhacker or the thing that you pee out of and place it in her forbidden fruit or the thing she pee out of....next without lust wiggle around a little in her forbidden fruit until the core pops or until you let out a moan and a grunt...that is your seed spreading and you being fruitful ....then get up and watch tv

being fruitful does not refer to anything sexual funches or anything that has to do with reproduction.

Well, it depends upon pov as to whether gardens truly just reproduced themselves or if GOD provided them with then necessary partnerships to reproduce(wind, air, sunshine, rain,,,etc,,)

and then the issue of plants not having a will or a choice and humans having both

Cowboy... if you don't know that fruitful refers to being fertile ....then perhaps you need to bite off the tree of knowledge..

And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth goo fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.

What other people do in there lives regardless if it's a relitive or not does not effect your salvation. So what you're saying is if you're children go to hell then you will go as well. If that was so, just about nobody would enter heaven.

Me thinks with 6 billion people on the planet already...we need to stop being so "fruitful"...

has nothing to do with your children. It's in the reference of the fruits of your labor. Same concept, the fruit you bare are the actions you take in your life. Bearing fruits is just that, the actions you take in your life. You nor anyone else can or will effect the salvation of anyone but yourself.

well there sure was a lot of action going on when i produced my rotten kids...

Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

Before the man and woman in the garden it was just good but after it was very good. Notice Adam is still naming stuff and even changed her name from what she was first known.

Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.

Wow, Eve can speak. Not a child but a man.

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Wow, Man is both male and female.

be fruitful and muliply was God's command to Adam and Eve to bear children and begin the human race

we just have to take better care of our FRUIT,,,but instead have become quite the gluttons ,,,,

You bring up a good point. Anyways there is this flood and we get to the ninth chapter of Genesis. Needless to say there are less people.

Genesis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

a good way to explain be fruitful and multiply came to mind.

Be fruitful - Be true to God's will
Multiply - Is quite obviouse, reproduce.

Cause if we all were fruitful and multiplied we would fill this earth with God following people. Because people would be doing God's will and multiplying the population.
