OK so here's something that has been bothering me. I know I'm a great guy.
I'm the guy that will drop everything if you need a shoulder to cry on,
the guy that brings roses when I pick you up from work. The guy that opens
your car door for you. But for some reason, every woman I'm with ends up
treating me like s*** and eventually leaves. Take for instance my recent
Divorce. I found a great girl were together for a couple years, and found
out she was having an affair. Reason being, she wanted someone that made
her feel dangerous, not someone that loved her. What is wrong with a guy
that treats you right ladies? Can anyone answer this for me?

there's nothing wrong with being treated nicely; we all want that. however, there's more to it than just that, otherwise every nice guy would have a gal, or two, on his arm, all the time.

Most women aren't used to this & it can actually make a woman feel smothered by too much attention lavished on them. I guess I just don't like to draw that kind of attention to myself. My ex was like that in public & made me feel like an old dishrag around the house. Everyone thought he was so great it made me want to puke!!!ill

I think you may need to look at it at a different view. You may not have been the problem. It may have been your choice that had the problem.

In other word, nothing is wrong with you. Sounds like she had the problem. Be thankful it is over and happy to move on, even though it may hurt. In the long run it would have probably saved you more grief. If a lady cannot accept you for who you are then they do not deserve you. You sound like a awesome guy and you will find that lucky girl soon.

Women have the same issues from time to time. They are "too good", and they get cheated on or even beaten for their efforts.

Just be true to yourself, but make sure you take your time. If we were all ment to get along or ment to be with eachother than, we would all have gotten married at 22 and lived happily ever after...

Just be yourself, and try not to question why someone else is the way they are...they just are.

Yup, I brought that snake in from the cold,
warmed it by my fire,
fed it my food,
and as soon as I turned my back,
it bit me in the asp.

go figure snakes eh.

At least he didn't say "nice guy" slaphead

Think about it like this.... would you want a girl who is just sweet and loving and perfect all the time? Nope! We all thrive on something more in life, imperfections are part of what make us all individuals. If you never fight how can you have super hot make-up sex, you can't! Wanting to be the perfect guy for your lady is admirable but you also have to stand up for yourself. Part of human nature is to push each others buttons just to see how far they can go. We all need to be put in our places sometimes and that means being not so nice when the occasion rises. If you ALWAYS do nice things people come to expect it instead of appreciate it. All things in moderation my young friend!

I cannot add to the voice of experience.
Except.
There are some areas where it does not hurt
to be a wee selfish.

If your assessment is complete and accurate(you didnt mention any POSSIBLE flaws...) , than I would say she was just foolish. There is someone for everyone.. some like occasional arguments and 'challenges', others prefer smooth sailing and peace.

Dont beat yourself up about it,, just be more cautious about whom you choose to be vulnerable with(some will appreciate your heart and others will take it for granted,, be honest with yourself about which TYPE you are getting involved with)...

.ohh,, and the toe curling thing, is EXCELLENT advice..lol

This seems to be a common situation for the "good" guys. Just continue to be yourself until the right girl comes along. Not all girls appreciate "gentlemen" behavior. Best wishes to ya!

oh sweetie, do u realize that youre 21? I have shoes older than you, please dont be offended, but if you are already divorced at 21, then I would like to say, go and live! Have some fun! there are so many opportunities out there for a guy who is a gentleman, respectful, hot looking, smart, you have everything going for you. If a girl doesn't appreciate you, move on. I know it hurts, I've been nice for 28 years. I'm moving on. I am a great person who deserves a great person. That is what you should say to yourself. You are a catch. I sincerely wish you luck. Love Mary
