It seems to me lately (unless you are completely immune to media) that we are in a sensationalistic in your business tabloid time.
There are certain people who seem to be able to handle this with dignity and grace...and others who appear to be attention seeking brats for all of the wrong reasons. It's ALL out there for everyone to view...for better or worse. If you were famous for something as simple as doing your job well and trying to be a good person (WHICH INCLUDES MOST OF US)...what would you do to keep yourself grounded? |

Doing sports, yoga, or tai chi, gardening and getting my hands into the dirt, hanging out with my dogs...stuff like that

They don't take a powder, they are a constant no matter the terrain ... One either has them, or pretends to until caught! I would never leave home w/out my heart, integrity, compassion and accountability! |

My family would give me a reality check. They would let me know that I'm no more important than they are!

If you were famous for something as simple as doing your job well and trying to be a good person (WHICH INCLUDES MOST OF US)...what would you do to keep yourself grounded? For those reasons I wouldnt be famous for long. I am a strong supporter of 'ITs not your business" or 'Thats private",, which are probably fast tracks to obscurity and blacklisting in the media. I would stay grounded by continuing to be myself, to treat others respectfully, and to graciously deny others attempts to treat me as anything other than a hard working person(I.E. Free gifts, special treatment at public places where I havent paid for it....etc..) I think you cant accept the pedestal so willingly and complain when you get knocked down. I dont want the pedestal in the first place, just respect for what I do. |

You just have to remember that your "status" wasnt always so, realize it can be taken away as quickly as earned/given.Not ever forget where you came from and in the split of a second, you can be right back there.
I cherish everything that happens to me in my life, big or small.Because no matter the impact,it ALL leads you to where you are now and where you will be. My family is strong, my friends are few but mighty.They will be by my side holding me in my present. Be careful what you ask for in life, you just might get it.But will you TRULY be happy WHEN you have it ??? |

Since were all just a speck on another speck, keeping grounded is imperative to our well being and our connection to the earth. It's where we gain our balance... meditation, walking through a graveyard, hiking, being in nature, planting something, helping another... are some ways to relieve us of our self importance, show us how small we really are. If were not able to keep our self in check, the Universe will present us with some humbling experience to help us along.

 i have no vices, and i'd just be able to help more people out down the line. the papparatzi, on the other hand, i might pull a Sean Penn once in a while, and pop one or two in the nose. i'm already security for a couple of famous people now, and it's already too tempting... but it's legal right now to push em around at this time. they are horrible!....and over relentless... |

Send all the ridiculous women's mags photos of my dimpled butt...no editing allowed...a letter attached saying.." Photoshop this, and I will sue YOUR arse off!"
