I am learning how to handle that after losing my job but I gave them over 10 years of great work, and I have pride in that!!! When I go back to college in May I will have my pride back!!

I don't swallow.

This cancerous, lethal, and destructive quality, probably more than any other negative quality, has brought down more kingdoms, toppled more empires, caused more wars, destroyed more marriages, ruined more friendships and led more criminals into our jail systems than all of the other negative qualities combined and put together.

The spirit of pride has to be the absolute king of all the negative and destructive qualities that can enter into our personalities - and no one is safe and immune from it. All Christians, young and old, super saint or not, have got to keep a sharp eye on this negative quality, and do everything they can not to let this spirit get a foothold and grip into their personalities and mindsets.

And a little Humble Pie for dessert.

I suppose it has a lot to do with what you are prideful about? And how far you take it.

Being prideful of ones heritage can be good if it is respectful of others.

Being prideful of ones family can be good if it builds their self esteem and you keep the defination of family open enough to include all those that deserve your acceptance of them into your human family.

Being prideful of ones mind and body is good if it helps you maintain it to be the temple of your soul and to serve others and not just be vanity and superiority.

Being prideful of ones works is to recognize the value of work and that it is not play that gets the job done. Work will not feed the inner person without balance but to contribute to the world no matter how modest the job is of value.

Being prideful of ones values is to have boundries not only to keep yourself in check but to define to others who you are. Sometimes pushing boundries allows growth sometimes maintaining boundries keeps life in control.

Being prideful allows us to stand like no other species is allowed to stand and take charge. Done with forethought and generosity we can live in the world without cowaring but we do not have to conquer it.

I agree with CyPoet Pride often goeth before a fall when taken to extreem but I do not agree that it is the root of all evil.

do volunteer work for habitat for humanity,,or a soup kitchen, see how some of our brothers&sisters live and that overwhelming sense of self will disappear..
