You were going good there until you said the warm fuzzies comment. So if things are going good between you and your mate, then f**k all? Pride is a seriously bad sin, and particularly bad in those who have found the Church. It is up to us to be humble and helpful, not full of pride and to say "look what I've done." Christ lived a life of humility and so did his disciples, a lesson all of us should take to heart. If within the parameters of applauding another's achievements, having a giant flush of the warm fuzzies for another... it's a marriage made in heaven. 'FOR ANOTHER' and thanks for deciding for me what I may or may not decide for ME is appropriate. Preaching from the litterbox won't win browny points, mate. You asked I answered. ![]() |

"Preaching from the litterbox won't win browny points, mate." Mind if I use that line sometime? It needs a Canadian tweek by adding "eh?" but besides that.... It's good! ![]() |

I swallowed my pride a very long time ago..I gaged, felt ill and cried.. at times I thought I'd vomit it back up, never have. I think maybe this it's gone for good, I hope so.

Ok, I came late to this party and only perused it but...pride in and of itself is not bad. I am very proud of some things I have done and/or accomplished in my life. I am proud of my son and his life. Being prideful as a life/personality trait...kinda yucky!

in the end none of this matter

What happens when you swallow it? There is no painful pride to swallow if you have overcome your ego. Saying your sorry doesn't hurt. It is freedom. |

To cause shame to the victim, not in order that anything may happen to you, nor because anything has happened to you, but merely for your own gratification. Hubris is not the requital of past injuries; this is revenge. As for the pleasure in hubris, its cause is this: men think that by ill-treating others they make their own superiority the greater.

One of whose deadly sins? ![]() Not mine. Pride-fullness....if married to narcissism is a toxic relationship. If within the parameters of applauding another's achievements, having a giant flush of the warm fuzzies for another... it's a marriage made in heaven. Pride, arrogance, intolerance, ignorance....they tend to hang around the public loos of dodgy petrol stations together. You were going good there until you said the warm fuzzies comment.
