When you swallow your pride, you control the urge to be arrogant/proud (which is what you really want to be) and instead you behave in a humble way.
There are times within life we must do just that swallow our pride and survive. |

Heya Kristi!!! and Cats !!! ![]() Thanks Jess, so what's your view on Pride? Keep in mind that's one of the 7 Deadly Sins. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

One of whose deadly sins?
![]() Not mine. Pride-fullness....if married to narcissism is a toxic relationship. If within the parameters of applauding another's achievements, having a giant flush of the warm fuzzies for another... it's a marriage made in heaven. Pride, arrogance, intolerance, ignorance....they tend to hang around the public loos of dodgy petrol stations together. |

If within the parameters of applauding another's achievements, having a giant flush of the warm fuzzies for another... it's a marriage made in heaven. Pride, arrogance, intolerance, ignorance....they tend to hang around the public loos of dodgy petrol stations together. You were going good there until you said the warm fuzzies comment. So if things are going good between you and your mate, then f**k all? Pride is a seriously bad sin, and particularly bad in those who have found the Church. It is up to us to be humble and helpful, not full of pride and to say "look what I've done." Christ lived a life of humility and so did his disciples, a lesson all of us should take to heart. |
