SERENITY: It's one of the best sci-fi films to come out in quite some time, and Joss Whedon did all the Firefly fans proud with this film.
STAR TREK: J.J Abrams did not disappoint with this reinvention of the Star Trek franchise. In fact, he not only made the best sci-fi film I have seen, but he made one of the best films from 2009. TERMINATOR 2: Yeah. Talk about Avatar all you want (Yes, it is an awesome film). But nothing...and I repeat....NOTHING that James Cameron has done before or after T2 will equal the brilliance of this film. |

Anything Trek (Except ST 5, gawd it sucked)
the New Trek (It stands apart) Pitch Black & Chronicles of Riddick "They Live" - Great modern B movie, awesome story 2001 and 2010 ... and if you haven't read the books, 2029 and 3001, please do yourself the favor. Sci Fi rox... I could only stratch the surface and this doesn't even count The Twilight Zones and Outer Limits... and don't forget The Fifth Element lol |

The Outer Limits...the old ones were good...the newer ones are fantastic!!!

There are so many. I love sci-fi. "Monsters of the Id" is an old one but still loved it. I was surprised "Total Recall" with Arnold Swartzenegger really did Phillip K. Dick's book good I thought.

Lord of the Rings!!!!!!!!
Event Horizon is one of my favorites.
I'd say...
Terminator Star Trek The Fifth Element Iron Man LOTR Serenity |
"Rose Red"
"Road Warrior"
Does it count as sci-fi? It's End-of-the-World type stuff. O.K., maybe not the greates movie, but I found it very entertaining and it had a bit of everything: drama, humor, romance, and plenty of action. AND It's Mel Gibson at his best - he doesn't talk much |

Original Planet of the Apes, and the first 3 sequels
The original Rollerball Westworld Logan's Run The Quiet Earth Soylent Green Bladerunner Original Star Wars trilogy I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but I definitely wouldn't consider that "science fiction", but that's just me |
