SERENITY: It's one of the best sci-fi films to come out in quite some time, and Joss Whedon did all the Firefly fans proud with this film.

STAR TREK: J.J Abrams did not disappoint with this reinvention of the Star Trek franchise. In fact, he not only made the best sci-fi film I have seen, but he made one of the best films from 2009.

TERMINATOR 2: Yeah. Talk about Avatar all you want (Yes, it is an awesome film). But nothing...and I repeat....NOTHING that James Cameron has done before or after T2 will equal the brilliance of this film.

The Blob

anything Star Wars
Matrix Trilogy

V for Vendetta
The 12 Monkeys

Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Planet of the Apes

E.T.
The Iron Giant

Iron Man
Star Trek

I'm drawing a blank, but will think of some more and add them later.

There are so many. I love sci-fi. "Monsters of the Id" is an old one but still loved it. I was surprised "Total Recall" with Arnold Swartzenegger really did Phillip K. Dick's book good I thought.

"Road Warrior"

Does it count as sci-fi? It's End-of-the-World type stuff.

O.K., maybe not the greates movie, but I found it very entertaining and it had a bit of everything: drama, humor, romance, and plenty of action.

AND

It's Mel Gibson at his best - he doesn't talk muchlaugh

umm yeah I differentiate between hard science fiction and fantasy

LOTR was an awesome job of capturing the novels but not science fiction

Star Wars even was more fantasy than science fictiion

I dug the remake of I Robot and would like to see more US Robots and Susan Calvin movies
