It was a joke lol. Just incase you didn't realize some people might not understand what you are talking about when you talk about hene lasers in a closed loop sytem and thermo expansion coefficients. HeNe lasers are usually used in optics and consist of Helium and Neon, both of which are noble gases, meaning their outer shell contains a full orbital and they are hard to react (I am majoring in chemistry). Thermal (thermo is a quick form for us chemists) just describes how an object expands such as an atom, molecule, substance, etc when heat is applied to the medium.

I was making reference to the site here, not your job in Scotland. I understand what you are describing above, but it probably belongs in the science or technology thread.

A woman with a French accent is hot. Most Brits sound good. Aussies sound like Brits, but they open their mouths wider. If that makes any sense. Italians are nice to listen too. But, Germans sound sort of I don't know. Spanish sounds almost like music to me. Japan is sort of cute coming from a woman. Almost sounds like baby talk. Same with many of the other Asian accents.

English speaking people from Africa sound cool.

I grew up not far from NYC sort of get irritated by NY accent although some of my friends have the accent lol.

Accents I worked in London England in a call center for a phone company and listened to people from every village in the UK. I've heard everything, from everywhere.

Favourites are definitely the Scottish around Aberdeen, the Irish in N.Ireland (I also worked with a guy from Cork who could read me my textbooks and make me happy ) and the Welsh in Cardiff and near Bristol.

I also met some South Africans and Australians. I love the way South Africans speak English because sometimes it's very pretty but Afrikaans is really harsh. Aussies are hilarious and totally crazy but they have a more similar tone to some Canadians. I used to get mistaken for Aussie all the time.

But I cannot understand most Asians. I don't know why I just have a hard time.
