Greg Maddux....almost laughable, hell did he ever throw a strike, Steve Carlton was far better and don't forget Bob Feller, Sandy Koufax, and the greatest most intimidating pitcher of all time.....Bob Gibson.

Huck...the entire point is that Maddux was dominant without having the blazing fastball.

So what if he didn't throw strikes. He made guys miss. He did it without being able to overpower them.

I take nothing away from any of the other guys you mentioned. They were all great pitchers.

But, for my money, gimme a guy who can outsmart the hitters and make them walk away from the plate shaking their heads not because the guy was throwing 95+, but because he threw an 85 mph fastball in the most un hitable location.

Baseball is my game & it just pains me every time I hear of another user. We all knew that when Mac testified before congress that he was hiding the truth. Look at his & Bond's rookie card pictures. They were sticks, then they became these behemoths. I agree with what 1 poster said, all "outed" users "records" should be expunged. And as another said, Hank is the man. A much better role model than the Babe would ever be. As for Jr. I wish him the best, but it's unlikely that he would break Hank's record. The best chance would be Albert P., but who knows if he's clean?

could you imagine if ruth took steroids, oh wait, how many hotdogs did he eat before a game...Lmao

I agree that doping was and still is rampant in baseball, they are always going to find ways to cheat, nasal spray or some other undetectable antihistamine. and you're absolutely right, there's no way to tell who did and who didn't in the past 15 or so years. If Bonds makes it into the Hall of fame (shame), then pete rose should be a lock, hell after all rose broke cobbs record and cobb was a wife abuser and a known racist.....the sporting world on a whole has gotten way out of control and it seems to be getting worse every year with players toting guns and getting involved in sexual triangles. Seems like you have to learn how to talk s.h.i.t., dance and act a fool before you even learn the fundamentals of the game anymore.....sad, but hey it makes for good reality T.v....go get'em tiger

The unit..now he has always been the bomb.RJexplode

Level playing field considered..all those so called records should be thrown out.

Whistle blowers are always hated and maligned. Jose rocks for being so brave.

Those records will never be taken out because there is no way to know how many WERE doing steroids.

A couple of pitchers have admitted to using in that era.

If a couple of them admitted to it, what's to say that ALL of them didn't.

That means that your boy Randy should have his records, wins, strikeout totals and everything else about his career taken out of the record books as well.

Now...do you STILL want all the records from that era taken out??

Any real baseball fan does. He is amazing at the plate. As I stated, I just hope he's clean. Maybe we should give-up on pro-sports & athletes altogether? There seems to be so few that have any integrity.

If a player tested positive and/or admitted steroid use during their career, yes if they broke a record held by someone for years.

But then I want Pete Rose in the hall of fame.

Shoot me for having an opinion on the matter but it's mine..

I just miss baseball before all this crap.

At least the cleared bench fist fights are more PUMPED.

I'm with purple. If they can allow these records to stand, then "Charlie Hustle" should be inducted into the Hall. Otherwise, this talk about "for the integrity of the game" is just blue-sky & nonsense.
