I came on this site for dating.. I didn't even know the forums were here... Distance is a factor, many people are jobless and broke, and then there are the jaded bitter ones who are here to play..but safely behind the screen. X2-!! and another one from the land far ... far ... away ...

Going on 2 yrs and I have yet to meet Mr. Right from here.
I tried another online source and met a Few MR. WRONGS!! I am kinda turned off by the whole on line dating idea now due to all the Mr. Wrongs!! I still enjoy this site....their are some pretty cool people here that I have met :> |

Ok let me give you a point of view, based on my observations. There are 3 categories here on mingle 2 1. Very active women on the forums, who talk and chit-chat, but they aren't really looking for anyone. 2. There are the ones who are looking for the "one". Of course the person they are looking for doesn't exist. They are really looking for either Brad Pitt or Matthew McConaughey, but one day perhaps they realize, that those sort of people don't really look for dates on a free-for all mingle dating sites. Some of these also belong to either group number 1 (above) or group number 3. (below). 3. And then you got this massive amount of women, who never post anything on the forums, or maybe once or twice at most. For them, you can type your fingers off or send 10 thousand nudges, they won't respond. If you have seen the movie "I am Legend" with Will Smith, they are pretty much like those mannequins he put into the DVD store to talk to, or the Chinese clay army, who line up and all have a face but you would have a similar success trying to make them talk. #1) I surely do not fit into #1. I'm not "very attractive" I'm a plain Jane that can clean up nicely. #2) Sure why not Brad Pitt? I mean have you seen him off camera? He's a skinny man with very bad skin. Not what I call a real looker. My point is I'm a bit too damn old to play popularity and or the most vibrant peacock feathers on a man. #3) I respond to nudges that a) have a photo posted, b) have a photo posted NOT wearing sunglasses. I respond to those who write proper English in their PM to me and who fall into the a and b. I will respond to those that do not come off as a predator. So there has got to be a #4 for those like myself that are on cruise control, taking life easy and keeping eyes open for the "right one". I honestly believe there are a lot of right ones just hard in these days and times to find with the 9 - 5, traffic, rat race blah blah. As far as dating sites go, they are a nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live here. What I mean is it doesn't hurt to give it a shot, but highly unreliable. |

I'm not looking for a relationship, if it happens then that's great, if it doesn't that's ok also....I'm content with where I am right now...so no disappointment in that area...
 Although I will admitt I am a hopless romantic....there I said it..
