I have noticed that a rated "R" movie can have a fully naked woman in it. But it needs to be rated X to see a naked man.  So true! Plus we have to go downtown to some seedy theater and sit next to a character with his fly down and share your popcorn with him. |

Isn't it a sad case of where we have ended up? The talented has been set aside for the talentless, it is a case of quantity instead of quality. People seem to be like lemmings in a race to 'dumb' themselves down, standards have slipped and some of us seem to accept being dished up short measures in the "entertainment" industry, instant fame and gratification is achieved for women who bare their breasts, "kiss and tell" and generally make fools of themselves.
As a woman to act "dumb" today is tomorrow's meal ticket.Our children are looking up to these so-called "icons" (with reality shows being the biggest platform for these no-talent contestants) It works both ways with males equally becoming "victims of the new "celebrity" status just for dropping their keks and wearing nothing else but a smile on the pages of the daily newspapers. |

I guess what I'm getting at is, as a society, do people expect less from women? If so, isn't this to the detriment of the female sex? Are women in the media generally stupider and less talented than the men? I think referring to society as a whole, yes. Does that mean that the majority of women are brainless bimbos? Not at all. Boobs and "naive" women make good entertainment. I don't think women are below men at all, but it is portrayed that way. |

Beauty and boobs do make this world go round! and when ya have them it can open sooooooo many doors!!! But..... It really only works if there are a good pair of brains behind it all!

Boobs always do it for me. Would you lower you standards a little to get hits? How about her nine months of carrying her Son? Wonder what THAT was like for her? SOME THINGS and IDEAS and PROGRAMMED IDEOLOGIES,, have been passed down, since our first THOUGHTS were written. As MAN,,knew NOT what he was DOING!!!!!  Nice post......

And in this crowd please be more careful of your choice of words. For instance, "succumb to your urges." That sentence fragment, unfortunately, urges you to one behaviour, and urges you to the very opposite behaviour at the same time and at the same respect. |

About Sarah Palin, she was not qualified to be VP. She was McCain's big mistake. So, no, a man who was just like her would not have been qualified either. You ask if women in media are stupider and less talented than men. Do you have examples (other than Palin) that support this? (Before you jump on me for generalizing let me just say yes, I am. For the sake of discussion I'd like to talk about the two groups collectively rather than individually. I am fully aware that there are exceptions to this notion) Do you ever notice that when you look at popular youtubers the guys are almost always funnier than the girls, and that girls generally depend on showing boobs and being beautiful for hits? Do you ever notice that it's easier for beautiful women to be "famous for nothing" while men, even attractive men, almost always have to be skilled in some area such as acting, music, wit etc in order to earn fame? Do you think Sarah Palin would be considered as qualified to be John McCain's running mate if she were a man? I guess what I'm getting at is, as a society, do people expect less from women? If so, isn't this to the detriment of the female sex? Are women in the media generally stupider and less talented than the men? Everything always comes down to SEX,but there are always other much more important aspects to every relationship than SEX, DO WE GET ALONG ???, DO WE EVEN WANT TO GET ALONG ???, DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT ME ??? , is there another attraction other than SEXUAL... :crazy: The whole sex thing is what finally put me off women, I don't even care what you think of me any more... If we judge what is important to society by what is on Utube then society has gone to hell over all. Do you ever notice that it's easier for beautiful women to be "famous for nothing" while men, even attractive men, almost always have to be skilled in some area such as acting, music, wit etc in order to earn fame? Select few oogleing over bimboos hardly rises to the level of what I would call fame. Do you think Sarah Palin would be considered as qualified to be John McCain's running mate if she were a man? I don't think MaCain ever was a "real" Candidate to the political machine and palin had become a liability in Alaska so it was and easy way to get rid of her. I guess what I'm getting at is, as a society, do people expect less from women? I don't think so because as a society we expect women to be full time parents, full time homemakers, fulltime employees, and so on and so on wheather in health crisis or not. Men still seem to be excused to deal with one issue at a time more or less. If so, isn't this to the detriment of the female sex? I think it is very much to the detriment of women that anyone considers them inferior. That women seem to support the current impossible standards that women are actually frequently held to is probably the most defeating. Are women in the media generally stupider and less talented than the men? Depends on what media you are talking about. Some evening and weekend programing is directed towards children and men I still think most programing is aimed at women; especially advertiseing so female characters are meant to be acceptable to women viewers and we want to see ourselves in acceptable persona's. Sometimes that is making the viewer feel superiour. That is why we think of tv as entertainment. |
