Just turned another year older and it is what it is. I don't think much about age and just enjoy every minute that I can. I like my own company, enjoy hanging with friends and if there's a man in the mix-good for me.bigsmile

What’s the definition of “Old and Bitter”? I enjoy my adventurous life and comradeship of wonderful people. I like my professional activity and blessed having smart friends. I do not aging; I live a fantastic life. Mingle is fun; it is a good evening addition to my day fun. happy

I used to have a fear of winding up old and alone. [snipped]

"Alone" and "lonely" are two different species. A person
can be in either space or in both at the same time. The
key, I believe, is tossing the "lonely" part.

(I realize you never mentioned "lonely", but I thought
I'd throw it out there).

I've never had an issue with age (i.e., "old" as is
discussed here). Heck, I do more and risk more (as
in fun stuff) than folks half my age - this is most
likely why I don't think about the age thing.

Others should think (IMO) along similar lines.

Those who are bitter are that way because they've
never fulfilled their own expectations.

I used to have a fear of winding up old and alone. The longer I'm alone, the more comfortable with it I am.

I think I see, a couple folks on here that don't want a mate but are here anyways. To read their replies makes me kinda' sad. The way they express themselves shows me they are bitter about something and want company in the pits.

The profiles show the same. Expressing more of what they don't want than what they are looking for. Also, they post no pictures of themselves. Tells me, they don't much care for their own company.

I am very grateful I ain't aging bitterly.

How are ya'll aging?

I'm fine alone....but not bitter about it. I'm just comfortable with my private time.

But there are some that are jaded or bitter about past relationships. I do think it's sad because even if they find someone....they won't be truly happy until they are happy with themselves first. Others can't make you happy. They can add to it (like icing on a cake) but never rely one another to make your happiness

That is so true myself I have been single and living alone for 18 years besides having my kids here of course. Problem is I've grown so use to living alone not sure I could live with someone....laugh laugh laugh

The older I get, the MORE in HARMONY with life I become.

Bitter was only felt when I still had a swollen ego of testosterone going on.

NOW, at over a half a Century of this world.....I am only BITTER, that

EVERYONE ELSE,,,,has not learned,,,,to love one another as just people.

I wake with smiles and go to bed alone, lol, with smiles...bigsmile

OLD,,,,,is HOW YOU SEE IT,,,,,,,not HOW THE OLD,,, LIVE-IT!!!

I THINK a halter top on an eighty year old lady is GROSS, yet,,,I have learned that IF SHE LIKES IT,,,,who the HELL am I or MY THOUGHTS,wink.

drinker SHE'S HAPPY,,,,laugh laugh laugh laugh

What if we are not bitter and don't want to be alone BUT have gotten so used too being alone that sharing space (on a day to day basis) has become a problem????
