I'm not usually a fan of extended fight scenes but the battles in the LOTR movies kept me glued to the TV. I'm going to have to watch those again very soon. I've already seen them twice. Only twice? I agree though, amazing fight sequences. And I'm glad Peter Jackson kept in the running bodycount between Gimli and Legolas from the books. |

They are on my list to read this year. But, I have talked to other fans and they were very pleased with how well the movie follows the books. I LOVE the competition between Gimli and Legolas....yeah, I'm definitely gonna have to put those movies on this weekend. |

have a favorite - been my favorite for a long time
in Peggy Sue Got Married - PeggySue (Kathleen Turner) goes back in time and looks up her long deceased grandma. They are sitting in front of the fireplace and PeggySue is discussing her life's troubles, and somehow or another gramma and gramps know and believe she is there from the future, and firelight makes a warm and magical glow. As they are talking, gramma tells PeggySue "Choose wisely," as the only words of advice. But it's perfect in the context of the mood of the movie in that scene. Another one is the final scence of Dumm and Dummer when Jeff Daniels and his friend miss the bus with all the beautiful babes because, yes, they are that dumm- hilarious- one of my favorite movies! |

Fans seem to be split on the movies, some(like a friend of mine who is a die-hard fan) loved them, while others say it's an insult to the books....you just can't make everyone happy. |

I think I will bump it up on my reading list so its next. |

KING ARTHUR (2004):
The scene where the woman begins to sing "We will go home" is haunting, simply because the Knights believe they have fulfilled there duty to Rome. But Arthur walks into the picture, hearing the song, and he sees the looks on the men's faces. Arthur is so torn because he loves these men, but he also is bound by duty. The woman's voice, and the way the actor's portray their individual characters...it is just so beautifully done. |
