Has anyone past or present perform a good deed and how did it make you feel.

I did a good deed today, my son and I were driving to go to pizza hut for dinner when the car in front of us just stopped. I told my son to go see if this person needed any help and was glad to have the help. My son and I pushed this ladies car off of the busy road onto a side street and she needed gas. My son stayed behind to help calm this lady down and keep her company while I went and got a gas can and gas for her car. Came back put the gas in the car and told this lady hey keep the gas can it may come in handy and told her just think of it as an early christmas present. She was so grateful. I feel so good after I knew that I helped a person today.

My favorite "good deed" is to pay for the coffee for the person behind me in the Dunkin Donuts drivethru!

It's always fun to see the person's reaction in the rearview mirror and it makes me smile for the rest of the day.

Our neighborhood grocery store (Hannaford) always gives these 2,3,or 5 dollars off your next visit coupons...I always lose them so I started giving them to the person behind me in line.

The reaction is always one of complete and utter shock!!!

Karma...it really does come back around.

Well it has been a while back but happen to be at the station getting gas. When I overheard the teenagers in the car on the opposite side talking about how much trouble they were gonna be in. Evidently they had not looked at their gas gauge they lived approximately 25 miles away and had pushed the car to the station they had ran out and was broke.

First thing I thought of was not only was it late but what if that was my kids. So after asking them where they lived at ect.. I gave them $5 to get gas and told them to go straight home. They asked for my number so they could pay me back. I told them look just get home and for now on look at your gauge and don't wait till the last minute to get home.

Also told them if they ever saw anyone in need to give a helping hand that would be pay back enough......... I drove off with a smile hoping they would remember the kindness and return it to another in the future..bigsmile

Actually have stopped to help others broke down or ones that ran out of gas several times. When I had my truck I stopped many times to jump their vehicles off as well always carried my own set of jumper cables and did it myself. And always told them the same thing help another they see in need that was all the pay back I needed....

Worked with Habitat for Humanity in College. It was an awesome experience. To see a hole in the ground become a house, to watch an entire community work together to bring it into existence. It's a great feeling.

Daytime...I figure it's typically $2.50 or less to make someone's day.

And unfortunately msharmony...I don't live in Vegas! But I wish I did!!

Yeah.

I leant a guy from work five bucks so he could get some dinner in the cafeteria. He told me he would pay it back. Two weeks went by, and I never said anything to him, but he walked up to me to repay his dept. I told him to just keep it, and that maybe someday he could return the favor to me. He just looked at me like this was a new concept to him. He thanked me.

When standing in line to check out at the grocery or other stores, every so often a child will come up to his/her mother and ask her to buy crayons, pencils, coloring books or some simple pleasure like that. The mother says, "I'm sorry honey, mommy just can't afford it." I hand the kid the money to buy it.

Also, when my kids have to send money into school for supplies or field trips, I always send double to pay for a child that can't afford it.

I do that too!!! That is...the sending in double for fieldtrips, etc! Every year the schools ask the parents to send $5.00 in for some Scholastic weekly reader type thing...and if the family can't afford it it just comes out of the school's budget, but I always send in $20.00 with my daughter and tag it with a note that says to put the balance of the $20 towards any other child who can't afford to pay.

Yes. I saw a young woman whose bike was down on the side of the rode. I stopped and asked if she needed help. She asked, "do you know how to fix a bike?" I said "no, but I know how to put it in my trunk and take you home." Which we did!! She was a wonderful young Mom who ended up having an 18 month old with medical issues. I gave her some good info about natural health and she was so grateful. When I left she, rather than insult me with trying to pay, said, "don't worry, I WILL pay it forward!" That was amazing to me. We also have kept in touch and she plans to take some natural health classes!! Her husband is in the military and away as well. It was joyful and humbling!

I talked to an ex who treated me badly in the past, listened to her for over an hour and gave consolation without bias or self thought. She went away happier and less emotional over her new boyfriend....it was hard, but it was the right thing to do since i know her well and know why she does things.Although i dont consider it a "nice" thing to do,i just see it as the right thing to do

I have read each and everyone of your responses and they were all awesome. I felt really good after I had helped that lady. It was a cold and rainy day and did not want her to feel like there was no one in the world that would help.

All of the time! I love helping others and I do. My latest....Today I gave my girlfriend (struggling single-mom, minimum wage job) a DVD player cause I know she cannot afford cable and she loves movies. I have tons of movies & told her that she is welcome to borrow any movie anytime.
