covered in saw dust as I type. Seriously do ya think if Bush and the republicans had done their jobs in the first place Obama would have needed to jump start the economy? Do you folks have any idea how bad things were? Obama avoided the "greatest depresion" unfortunatly he did it with debt but he didnt start two wars with no way to finance them. The fact that the electricity is still on for most of you should be enough evidence that Obama saved america. Banks we failing in droves homes were being forclosed at a record pace and the entire auto industry and all its support was shut downand gas was at 4 bucks a gallon! Oh my how soon people forget. Now I have something to think about for the next run at the woodpile.

We weren't in the best situation but now were are in a dire situation. No matter what you throw out there the fact is we are in bigger debt and it's getting worse. Those are hard cold facts which I'm not willing to ignore.

Enjoy the woodpile but try not to inhale too much sawdust ok.slaphead

You are absolutely right. We were headed for depression and that is what all the measures were meant to do. The recession was already here there wasn't anything to be done about preventing that.

The worse of the recession hasn't been hit yet in the unemployment department. We still have bit more to go before that goes up.

If we do not go into depression then Obama was successful.

Oh wait! Roman Empire?

Military overstretched - check.
Domestic Problems - check.
Foreign Policy problems - check.
Divided society on the ruler - check.
Too many enemies - check.
Monetary problems - check.

hmmm....did it survive?

I'm gonna rip some part of this article apart.

.... If a true believer has faith that the Bible is literally true then they can also trust Rush Limbaugh.

Why bring the Bible into this discussion? USA is not the only country where Christianity exists and yet he doesn't call them "dumb" or does he?

If they believe the Rapture is imminent then they can ignore warnings about global climate change or the proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Nuclear weapons and climate change? How are these fit together, I don't know, this journalists just rants on and on about every major issue there is.
Why doesn't he just throws in El Nino, space alien invaders, flash floods and vulcanic eruptions too?

If a trusted leader tells them that Obama is the Antichrist then they can comfortably oppose everything the President proposes, even go so far as to threaten his life.

How easily throws everyone around to his own liking to different groups. Generalizing people who consider themselves religious, automatically thinks, that those who might have been baptised, might believe that Obama is "antichrist" or something.

US history informs us that there has always been a strong anti-intellectual component in American culture.

Funny, I call that freedom of speech. If everyone would agree on everything would have ended the USA in 1776.

And it's common for radical conservative movements to get their strongest support from the white, rural, Christian south.

Requirements to be dumb: White skin color, Christian faith and living in the South. GIVE me a break! What an ***.hole.

What's unusual about the GOP "dumbing of America" campaign is that it has become a national strategy,

I see the health care program has become a national strategy and to force everyone to believe that Democrats can do no wrong and worship Obama like some sort of god and accept everything he does without questioning.

This person is really the real hater and the real divider, if I would see him in person i would punch him in the face.

Christianity is a problem that has not been resolved in this country. So it does pose a problem.

It is his logic that if they can believe in Rapture, it shouldn't be a far leap to believe in global warming and nuclear issues.

I do notice a thread of commonality in the white, religious, southern part in the opposition to the president that is outrageously hatefilled. You don't see alot of minorities in those crowds. Why do you think that is?

I don't know that I would have been as extreme as he was in the article but he touched on valid issues.

See that republican mindset is what got this country into so much trouble. Instant gratification! Take the Iraq war fiasco as an example. Had there been a real investigation done with patients and maturity we wouldnt be stuck in that god awful war. Heck we wouldnt even be stuck in Afghanistan since all the real planning for that attack{ if it even happened as explained by the 911 commision} was planned outside of afghanistan. You republicans want your gratification fast regardless of the facts, kill em all and let god sort em out eh? Well I wont be around again today to entertain you have a full agenda but wanted to drop in and see how things are going. Thank goodness the adults are in charge now and the kids have been sent to their rooms to throw their temper tantrums. ( go Rush vent your venom to your eager minority following while we adults tend to business at hand.

son you need to read your constitution...to lay the war in Iraq soley at the feet of George Bush...is utter nonsense...does this ring a bell ?...

The Congress shall have Power To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;...I repeat...THE CONGRESS !!...not...the President...

Considering war was never declared and it is a military action then we can go from there. The notion of Saddam came from somewhere. As far as congress was concerned Bin laden did 9/11 and he was in Pakistan.

How did Saddam become the target? Bush.
