I think Obama is an intelligent man who did not say there would be NO taxes or that we would END ALL WARS. I think he said he would be committed to ending the war in IRAQ because we needed to be in Afghanistan. At least, thats what I heard in the debates.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who hears what IS said and doesn't hear what ISN'T said.

I never once heard President Obama declare that he would not induce another tax, nor did I ever hear him claim he would pull all of our troops home from war. I never even heard him claim to pull all the troops out of a single war, just that he was commited to working TOWARDS THAT GOAL.

There's a major differance, and people need to learn to open their ears and LISTEN when others speak, instead of hearing what they want to hear.

The problem is that there was never war declared, and Afghanistan (like Iraq) is a military invasion, not a war.

What you NEED to ask yourself is how many will die IF WE DO NOT HAVE OUR YONG AND IN-SHAPE, PROPERLY TRAINED SOLDIERS OVER FIGHTING TO KEEP THEM OUT OF OUR COUNTRY[/c]? And keep in mind there is not a single soldier over seas that did not volunteer to be in our military. Not a one. So, another question you ned to ask, is what right do you or I have to tell our young volunteer soldiers that they can not defend us and our country against this evil terror?

The civilians in foreign lands being invaded didn't volunteer...themselves or their young or old..

That is still the myth created by Bush. The only reason they managed to attack on 9/11 was because we were lax on our job of national security. We did not need to go there and us being there does not stop a terrorist attack here at any level.

OMG hvnly where do you get all these WRONG "facts" of yours? "war was never declared?" I personally remember listening to President Bush on 9/11/2001 while he spoke to the WORLD, declaring war against any and all terrorists and THOSE WHO SUPPORT THEM. And before you spout off the rhetoric that it was an illegal decleration, might I remind you that the President has a window of opportunity, as it were, where he/she CAN declare war, conditionally upon it being approved within I think four months, by Congress. The war is valid for those four months (or whatever time period it actually is), even if Congress decides not to back it up. If Congress does not back it up, the war expires at the end of the time period, or when Congress declares it ended, whichever happens first.
In the case of 9/11/2001 CONGRESS supported President Bush unanimously with the decleration of war against all terrorists and their allies. Several other countries declared they would back us up in this war, though only a very few actually did.
Insofar as Iraq is concerne, yes we invaded, but we did so AFTER then President Hussein intentionally and knowingly blocked and hid all access to whatever he was really doing, and the United Nations refused to call him on it. We had what at the time constituted undeniable proof of wmd's ON IRAQ SOIL and thus declared war against Presdent Hussein due to his beliggerent defiance of the U.N. treaties and laws, along with accordance with our decleration of war against all allies of terrorism. AGAIN, Congress backed this up. In fact, tis tiem it went to Congress first.
In regards to Afghanistan, it is not an invasion because we were invited in but the local Government in order to clear the country of Bin Lauden and the Al-Quida operatives and training camps that were there.
