Barack Hussein Obama knows Islam better than many people in America . We all know that his father was a Muslim Kenyan and he still has family members who are Muslims . Writing such a letter is just another stupidity and ignorance .

But....Obama didn't know his Dad well. His parents divorced when he was 2-years-old. He only saw his Dad one time after the divorce. Obama's Dad died in 1982.

A fellow Lebanese Christian journalist has said that she, quote has been making "a career out [of] vilifying Muslims".

Even she admits in the parts that were snipped above that, at the very least, many Muslims don't follow the stereotype.

That said, I have no doubts that there are many who hold those negative 'infidel' thoughts close to the vest.

But how many are acting on them? Numbers, please.

Because unless they act on them, they are guilty of nothing but hating. And you don't have to go very far to see that in _any_ culture, American culture not excepted.

Like I said at the beginning of this all. It is ohhhhh so scary when another religion wants the same status as Christianity has had for quite while now so why is not so scary that Christianity has this power, religions are all the same.

Understood but all religions should be treated the same because they are the same. Idealogy may be slightly different but they are the same otherwise. Just as dangerous are all religions, there is no safe one.

as well as atheists...I agree. atheists can have just as little tolerance as extreme religious people (of any religion)

I don't think our founding fathers did too bad of a job. My point in the beginning of this thread was that there are people that thinking our president could do no wrong....but at the same time (like you) think christians need to be controlled when it comes to laws and the government. BHO is christian and so were are founding fathers

Atheism is not a religion so it cannot be classified so. Intolerance is not the only danger to religion, it is believing you are right and all others are wrong, that is the danger. Second of all I do not think such a thing was said in the OP about Obama doing no wrong and thirdly and again, All religions need to be treated as equal because they are equal in all areas that count.

I did not say controlled, I said treated equally. If one can be used for governing then all should be used for governing, if one should not be used for governing then none should be used for governing.

I think the scariest scenario we face is the possibility of a right wing president that is christian and takes the bible literally, especially the book of revelation, and he has access to the nuclear launch codes.
