I have two koi carp, head to tail, one red, one blue, on my left shoulder blade, about 6/8 inches in diameter....symbolic for Pisces I have 11 Kanji symbols from the nape of my neck following my vertebra down my spine...a story board....the symbol for dragon, (as I was born in the Chinese year of the dragon), then Om, then YinYang, then Strength, Wisdom, Altruism, Idealism, Mother, Daughter, Resilience, Compassion. There will be more until they join the tribal dragon centred at the base of my spine above my butt. I am contemplating getting larger art...I saw an amazing tattoo this morning, of a seahorse...a full body tattoo, travelling from the inside of the left ankle (the tail of the seahorse)...winding up the thigh, the curve of the hip, and onto the ribcage....stunning... I have a girlfriend who is an incredible body artist, and I suspect she may have a new customer.. Of all the fish. You choose a carp?......... |

What does being a Christian have to do with getting a tattoo or other body art? Getting a tattoo is nothing to take lightly. If you decide to get one, research the artist, have him draw your design and put it on the fridge for a few months so you see it every day. You will probably make a few changes -- if not many -- before you decide on a final sketch. I wish you well -- and to avoid tattoo regret. Don't get bands, sports teams or anything trendy. I have pix of some of my ink in my profile. I started 21 years ago and the ink is still fresh without blurred lines or black ink turning green. I am VERY careful about who works on me and they need a stellar pedigree! The reason why I mentioned being a christian is that I had thought about incorp a cross with the rest to the art and thought maybe others might have one???.... |

Are you mixing your reply in with my comments rather than posting a new reply outside of the quote margins? Help me to see what you are trying to say! |

Did not realize you were Asian. I apologize......... Pardon? SO someone who has a maori tribal tatoo is a New Zealander? Or a viking warrior one is from Scandinavia? How about skulls, and fire and brimstone? From Hell? That makes no sense....at all. |

And I was thinking about incorp a cross with the aircaft carrier I was on...??? Aaah! Well, that brings your comment about religion into context (kind of important). I don't believe in god; therefore, the reference to christianity was confusing. It's your body and no one can tell you what to do with your body, right? There are so many beautiful religious crosses and art work. I'm sure if you Google some key words, a lot of images will produce. It seems you are taking this very seriously and that is great!!! |

Never meant no harm..... |

Hey There.
I have a quotation tattooed on my back: "Like Branches on a Tree We Grow in Different Directions Yet Our Roots Remain as One" My Mother, My Older Sister and I all got the same stencil on the same day. Its was a great time. I really like body art. One word of caution: Tribal Tattoos should only be placed on a persons body if it relates to their culture. |
