I know this family that has two small children (5yrs and 1yr) who are living in a really old tag-a-long camper and they have the money to do better but they arent. i dont know what to do. what would you do?

Nothing. As long as the kids are fed and taken care of, it's their business.

They live where they choose to live. Maybe they are living there to save money up to buy a house.

If their happy who cares....

camper life is the best an least stressful right now meybe they lost thier house. i live in a 12 foot camptrailer an it is a good way to save money.

Gather a stack of apartment guides and keep leaving them where they will see them.

they have the money to buy a house but they find "something wrong" with everyone they look at. its getting colder here at night and i was concerned...

a camptrailer with 2 space heatrs an some sleeping bags is good for 10 below. an it is hard to find a likeable house, but im sure they will eventualy agree on something agreeable.

Think about this for a second....

A house is a HUGE investment. Especially right now.

I, myself, wouldn't be willing to take on that kind of debt for something I wasn't 100% happy with.

Why are you supposed to something? It sounds like they don't need help - you said they have the money. They're a family and it's their choice. They might have bills that you don't know about too.

It is one of those things as long as the kids are loved and taken care of then it is no ones business where they live...

its also different when they are living off of someone elses electric and water and not forking out the money to help pay the bills. and when this persons water freezes at least four times during the winter season.

Take their kids away from them. Force them to spend their money. Show them how to do it right. How dare they live like primitive humans and not take advantage of all the luxuries we've spent decades designing, building, and providing.

the guy claims he is loaded. and if they have bills they should pay them instead of buying new brand computers when they have perfectly good ones to start with.

i have an insane amount of love for children and it bothers me to see them in this situation. i mean for gods sake suck up your pride and rent something until you can get something better...

I'm certain coyote has an insane amount of love FOR the young children and only wants to see them living in what she may see as a better home, perhaps with their own bedroom, enough room for toys and the things the majority of our children enjoy on a daily basis. But, perhaps this is a temporary situation....? Bottom line for me, would be if I thought they were not healthy and happy... enough food and warm clothes. Only You can decide what you feel should be addressed, coyote. Maybe you could talk to the parents yourself and express your concerns. I know a family that someone called the ADCF, which caused them so much pain and constant scrutiny... I myself would only report something in dire straights. This thread is funny to me because there are thousands of homeless people in the country and there are millions of people that are starving...to death... in other countries, and you're worried about two kids that can't comprehend what a good life is yet and have a roof over their head with two parents and plenty of money?
