Topic: Is finding a date based on looks or personality?

Hey guys,
I just wondered since it seems that I'm the only blind person on here, which is ok. But I was wondering when you look for a partner online like this, are you looking for what they look like, or are you trying to get to know them? Of course since I can't see very well I go by personality since I would like to date someone who is a great person, not just by looks. If they're good looking, that's great, but looks aren't everything. I'd rather date someone who's not very good looking, but who is a nice and wonderful person. So I was just wondering what you guys think of this or what your views are?

Looks are a part of it, but then again, I've never been attracted to the kind of girl most guys go after....

But, for me, it was always more about the compatibility, the communication. It wouldn't matter how great she looked; if her only intention was to try to "domesticate" me, I wasn't interested. And since I determined that there isn't anybody who ISN'T that way, I stopped looking.

Of course there are women who do not want to "domesticate" men. You must be looking in the wrong place.

....Earth....?

Precisely Lex, you and me are not of this world...we are screwed.shades

Honestly, do men really think that women want to "domesticate" them? I have never heard of such a thing before.
I like it when a man goes home!! He's served his purpose! lol

However, there is someone that I think is ultra hot- just because of his mind. See? I'm not that shallow...all the time.

Got that right! -- When your only options are "goat" and "Ward Cleaver," you don't have much to work with....

We could always try and combine to two, maybe some genetics? Start splicing DNA together and see what kind of being we could come up with?

I guess I could be considered shallow. Obviously, the personality is more important, but I have to be attracted to them in some way too.

Really? That's all I've ever found! And I've been in a lot of relationships!!

And it's always the same thing -- the girl who says "I love everything about you!" suddenly decides, after 3 months, that she has to CHANGE everything about me. And here comes another domesticatrix.

No thanks....

I guess I'm rare, I really am just attracted to personality. In my mind personality is what makes a person beautiful.

Appearance catches my attention first because it's the first thing I see. Although I have had some great conversations with people on here who do not have pictures posted. Personality can either make or break the initial attraction.

I know I am not that way, and I am sure there are other women who are not as well. I don't want anyone to try to change me, so I don't try to change them either. Your fear of this happening is actually attracting exactly what you fear the most.

Stem cell research is a beautiful thing.

Of course, we'll end up with something like a 1950s sitcom called "Leave It To Goat," which will be a tremendous hit because all the women will love the idea of a father/husband who is SO deomesticated that he can eat tin cans and still bring home a paycheck.
