Oh geeze.

Am I going to have to go around the web finding different pictures of " hot " guys so that all the bases are covered as far as what women like??

Come on.

Regardless of whether that particular picture " turns you on " or not, the point remains the same.

Unfortunately, it seems to be getting lost in all the " That pic does nothing for me " stuff.

The pictures mean nothing, they are entertainment.
I am a very confident woman, so the pictures Vs. real life are irrelevant. I have no problem "competing" with anyone, and I think everyone should feel this way about themselves.

Try telling that to a 16 year old girl who sees these images of " perfection " every single day along with the message that this is what you should look like to be considered beautiful.

Again. My point is being missed.

An picture of an attractive man on a magazine may be nice to look at. But I certainly don't expect a man to have super model looks in order for me to date him.

It is not being missed, IMO, it is just irrelevant. Raising children to feel good about themselves, regardless of what they look like, really goes a long way.
What does this have to do with women wanting a man like the "cowboy" in the photo?? There are many women who rather have someone with intellect. There is no such thing a "perfection" it is all in what you were brought up to believe. Of course, there a people who feel so bad about themselves that they believe this is what men/women are looking for. This is a psychological issue.

Irrelevant??

Go tell the parents of an anorexic 16 year old that the issue I am speaking of is irrelevant. There are an awful lot of them.

I'm sure at least SOME of those parents tried their best to let their child know that ' beautiful ' is a relative word.

Perhaps. But ask a lot of those same women what the man they fantasize about looks like.

Chances are, he ain't gonna look like me, or any other ' regular ' looking guy.

I read somewhere once ( and I can't remember exactly where because it's been quite a while ) that something like 70% of women admit to fantasizing about someone else when they are engaging in sex with their S/O.

Chances are, it'll be someone like the " cowboy " ( and I KNOW..I KNOW already that the cowboy isn't for everyone so don't even start that crap again ), or some permutation of the image, that they are thinking about.

This is a psychological issue.

Yeah. After all....it's so common in this world that it just HAS to be all in their heads.

Perhaps.

But then again, I'm speaking in general terms for the most part.

I know that somewhere, someone is gonna think that I am attractive. I have been told that I am more than once on here.

I was looking at it as more of a societal problem than a personal one.

I see your point, Bro. Society makes it out, that you have to have to like Mr.\Ms. X to get somewhere. Anywhere. And women AND men feel from that, they arent worthy. I, myself will admit, I have women tell me that I am hot or sexy. I personally think I am so. But when others tell me so, I dnt believe it, its hard for me to think that others see it. I dnt look like Mr X. That make sense? I am very confident, and at the same...maybe I'm not??

people are conditioned to hold themselves up to an artificially manipulated ideal

I've posted this video several times but it always amazes me to watch it again

...when THIS is what gets women drooling...

...and THIS is what will have guys falling all over their own tongues...

...that the ' average ' looking person feels that the cards are stacked against them from the get go???

9 times out of 10, that " perfect for " you/me/whoever person has the " qualities " those two have.

At least in the fantasy land that a lot of people seem to live in these days.

" But it's just a fantasy ".....

Maybe. But if THAT is the " fantasy ", then how can reality compete?

YOu have to be on diet to complete this and if you are lucky could turn into reality.

No such thing as perfect and if there is, these people are way up there and their ego will take over...

Have you been hanging around people that are superficial??

That woman in the picture below the cowboy is not attractive to me at all. There's a several women on here, to me, that would blow her, Megan Fox<----uber unattractive to me, and several other so-called Hollywood ''hotties''.

 I don't think either of them are attractive. And most guys claiming to be cowboys are fakes (99%)

I hear what you're saying J.A.G. Especially with the advent of technology, the images are everywhere now. Girls Gone Wild videos sell like hotcakes, though how many husbands would want to pop one in and see their wife on there? It boils down to money, sex sells. Unfortunately many young women (and men) fall prey to this massive media blitz and strive to attain that "false beauty".

While the cowboy may have a beautiful body to look at, I don't consider him beautiful unless he has a kind heart and soul to match. And if someone happens to have a not so beautiful body, but shines brighter than any other in the two important factors, he is the most beautiful man in the world to me.

I guess I don't see it as a competition though. I see it more like a giant ecclectic menu. High priced food, cheap eats, gourmet specialties, All-American favorites, something for everyone's particular tastes.

I'm just a burger and fries, and happy with that! drinker

Well..there are a couple of different directions I could take this,.....but I am gonna refrain.

A few people understand what I am talking about.

Some are more concerned with the fact that I didn't pick the " right " pictures as my examples.

...the photos were clearly just EXAMPLES of why many of us are all f'd up regarding our self-image and relationships. Geez, people...get over the details of what picture was posted and find the POINT of the thread. It's legitimate!
