I don't like cowboys, try again.

Oh shush.

You get the point....lmao

eh not really. where i live there are no good-looking people and they don't seem to be suffering from a lack of relationships.

I made no mention of people lacking in relationships.

Isn't your point that average looking people can't compete with beautiful people to get relationships? Or am I missing something?

Nope. Not my point at all.

there are an awful lot of people who have issues with the way they look.

But, every single day, they are inundated with images such as these that supposedly portray " perfection ".

It goes for both men and women.

The " average " looking person will sometimes feel that they have the deck stacked against them when it comes to finding that certain someone because they know that there is no chance of them being able to attain that perception of perfection.

Because of the level of saturation of this type of image, people have the mistaken perception that they can never " measure up " and that everyone else is looking for that " perfection " that they, the average person, will always lack.

Ohhh okay. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I'm lucky that I never bought into that stuff, then again, I don't see very many people who look like me in commercials and ads and stuff, so it never affected me.

No problem. I try to be as clear as I can.

Occasionally I have to backtrack a bit. :-)

well look at magazines super skinny chicks and over muscled men.so honestly when your faced with that is"how you need to look to be loved" its not wonder people are starving themselves and have body dismorphia..

i dont think being a able to see every bone in your body is sexy and i dont freak out and cry because my thighs touch!

when and if people stp looking at magazines that tell us how to look then this society would be a lot of better off!

Ah HA!!!!

Someone who gets it.

thanks but its true to i dont think looking like a skeleton is sexy!i might nit be skinny but im comfortable not looking like a coked out whore

But you are old enough to have realized that it's, for the most part, unattainable.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of young women and men out there ( more girls than guys ) that are killing themselves to try to reach an unattainable image.

Christie Brinkly was on the cover a a magazine recently, and the tag line was "This is the face of 53"

I explained to my daughters that it is the face of a woman who has expert make up artists, professional photographers, special lighting, possibly airbrushing, and that it is not a real face at all. And not to be fooled by it.

Now Christie may be blessed with great genes, and never smoked, takes real good care of her self, but she doesn't look like that when she gets up in the morning.

If I dig the guy then he does look like that in my mind...

no doubt that the guy in the picture you posted is a handsome-looking dude.

however, he doesn't come close to looking as great as my boyfriend and i wouldn't bat an eyelash if he showed up in my life professing his interest.

it's not just a washboard stomach (which i don't much care for anyway) that makes a guy attractive.

it's the one who'll get up when not feeling good himself and rush out to get you a hot chocolate and aspirin when you're not well, and do all those unexpected and unnecessary things, not because he expects something in return, but just because he wants to. love

you might if she were a b!tch, or a nut-bar.

all i'm saying is that beauty, true beauty, consists of both the physical and the spiritual/emotional. without either one, the person isn't attactive (at least to me)

I don't even seen the point in worrying about those who fantasize about these kind of people. If they do, so what?

I have a couple of Cowboy pics. on my profile.
I enjoy using them,as my main pic, sometimes too.
Why not..They look "Hot".
This does not mean, that is what, I would expect, my "S.O" to look like.
Fantasy and Role playing...imagination...can be fun..
It's all good, as long as you, keep it in perspective.
I could be wrong..JMO...considering,I have High Maintenance Fetishes..lolol...surprised noway laugh

I think my use of the word " fantasy " may have been the wrong one to use.

But I don't think so.

What I meant was that more and more young people see those images as what should be reality, even though they are complete fantasy due to the work that has been done on those pictures by the photographers.

Okay, the pic of the guy you posted, didn't even make me look longer than a second, did nothing for me. As to why all the guys will drool over the chick, someone said recently "men are pigs". laugh

Oh geeze.

Am I going to have to go around the web finding different pictures of " hot " guys so that all the bases are covered as far as what women like??

Come on.

Regardless of whether that particular picture " turns you on " or not, the point remains the same.

Unfortunately, it seems to be getting lost in all the " That pic does nothing for me " stuff.

auburngirl's photo

No, I don't think it's getting lost. I just didn't think the guy was attractive, at least not to me. Give me a normal looking guy any day as compared to that guy. drinker
