I'm kind of worried about this Doctor Who thing the more I think about it I hope they haven't hurt the series by picking such a young and unfamiliar actor to play the Doctor. I think David Tennant may have increased the popularity of the series. I watched it with Christopher Eccleston but I have really heard people talking about it a lot more since David Tennant has been on there for a while. I am just concerned that Tennants departure may cause damage to the viewership of this Doctor Who series.

Time Lords can only regenerate 12 times.So the Doctor only has a couple of regenerations left!

NO! This is a common misunderstanding...

See at the end of the Time War the Time Lords all gathered and charged the Doctor with the task of saving the universe. In order to do so he'd have to do something that would destroy Gallifray as well. So the Elders (or whatever) transfered their lives to him as a gift for doing this.

But a Time Lord can choose NOT to regenerate too.

I hope so too, that's why I think Matt Smith bothers me (besides obviously NOT being DT) David's done 4 seasons now, Chris only stayed for the one as that is how he rolls. But David really makes people love the show.

If he buggers this up I'm going to Cardiff to find Russell T Davies and kick him. A lot.

I found a free Doctor Who Roleplaying Game (a tabletop rpg like Dungeons and Dragons)a few days ago. A group of people can create their own version of the Doctor and his companions (human,Time Lord, or alien) and create and play their own adventures.

Well, initially it wouldnt have worked that way, but if he has the lives of the Elders then presumably he has female lives (if any of them were female). There are (or were) female TimeLords.

I can't really imagine you as being a TimeLord but I can certainly can see you being one of the Doctors Companions.You would be perfect

I know that Doctor Who has been around a long time in England,but growing up in the heartland of America I only ever heard of him when I was a kid, and only had a chance to see the show a couple times,and I don't recall very many people watching it or talking about the show when I was a kid in Kentucky. Just references to the show in sci fi publications and stuff like that.So I basically knew what a Tardis was and what a Dalek looked like long before I ever really got to see my first Doctor Who series. I think thats the same for a lot of AmericansStar Trek was always the thing here in the states I think a lot of people here in the states took notice on a bigger scale when the show came out on Sci Fi channel with Eccleston playing the Doctor.And I really think its been picking up steam the last few season with Tennant playing the Doctor.I have been running into a LOT of people that watch that show in the past few months. It really has started to get peoples attention the last year and a half.

You seem too wholesome and down to Earth to be a Time Lord.Thats the reason I say that.TimeLords seem sort of strange a little bit You dont seem to be strange.

Wholesome and down to earth are things I strive for...well maybe not wholesome. But I think I am a little strange...Life's boring for normal people.

I did look it up and it seems there are Time Ladies. But the genders seem to always stay one gender. I really wanna find more about the Time Lords to read up because their society is somewhat Spartan but very Athenian as well. The children are taken from their parents at 8 yrs old and look into a ripin the fabric of time...I guess that's when they choose where the child will go. Cool!

Well, yeah thats basically what my research found as well,but if the Doctor has the lives of other TimeLords then perhaps he has female lives as well?He probably was given the lives of any female Elder Time Ladies as well.Thats what I am thinking.I bet they probably will do that someday on the show.

I kinda hope not...I like The Doctor being a man. Have you seen all of season 4 yet? Because they kinda get into the females in season 4.

Yes, I believe so. In the past the Doctor has even had other Time Lord Companions. He also mentions having a daughter at one point

Jenny. I hope she comes back. But he did also say he had a family before. And when it first started in the 60's he had his granddaughter as his companion (and I think 2 of her teachers)

Jenny's actually the daughter of one of the old Doctors in real life. And David Tennant apparently dated her Which I thought was hilarious.

The Time Lords are interesting. The Master was wicked and John Sims did him PERFECTLY in Season 3 (Martha).
