i actually intend to, that's why i asked bigsmile

was hoping i could steal some ideas.bigsmile

well, if there is a history to the place then you could take something from that for a part of it...

I use "somewhere over the rainbow" for a few reasons...

~it is a song that I love
~the lyrics mean a lot to me personally
~it is not in a town
~it is magical for me

when I looked at the history, I thought I wanted to add a bit to that. so I started thinking about the things that were most meaningful to me...to my life.

It was actually a serious decision for me...something that meant a lot to me.

awesome

Yes, my home is named.

It has some history from the Chippewa and from that the name "Enchatment" was given to it.

I have also tagged it..."somewhere over the rainbow"

I live on Lake Superior...the big lake they call Gitchi Gumee...and the land that I live on was once a place where tribal members came for healing.

The waters on the shore here were believed to be enchanted and sacred. The Chippewa name for it is "Tala Hi" which is pronounced "Tall a he".

many homes up here are named, and people name their camp too. Might be a YOOPER thing!! happy

<----This is me as enchanted as a newt, at The Enchantment

Beautiful place, and was an honour to get to spend a few days there.

A double-handful of years back, myself and another guy were doing construction work in Oshkosh. Literally hundreds of new roofs had to be put on houses due to severe storm damage, so we were there for the entire summer. Instead of making the trip home every night, we just got a campsite at a local campground, and we basically stayed there all summer. We'd go home on the weekends, but we'd leave the tents there, set up for when we returned after the weekend.

One day, one of us got the bright idea of taking a piece of plywood and nailing a 2X4 on the back of it to make a sign. We poked it out in front of the campsite by a tree, and painted it up to reflect how we felt when we returned from those long days of roofing, being exhausted:

"Camp F***-It"

I have pictures of it somewhere, but I have no idea where they are. I'll have to see if I can scare them up.
