Hey there is nothing better about getting older then to realize we can't change the world or the people within it.

But what we can change is the way we see life and learn that life is much more fun if you learn to enjoy what you have and learn to laugh more.

I would rather have a few laughs then to let things upset me.

We are only as old as we feel and laughter can still keep you feeling young.

Here is too laughter and the friends you share it withdrinks

Ladies, you have proven my point. You have assumed that I plagiarized a line from some film and you are flaming me for it. Judgemental? Jumping to conclusions? Is it simply not within your frame of referance that I could be inteligent and creative? Do you really believe I am so dim to think that no one would look up what I was saying?

As for my spelling, I have dyslexia. I try to put everything through a spell checker before I post it, but sometimes something gets through. Having dyslexia doesn't mean I'm uninteligent. It simply means that I cannot spell no matter how hard I try to learn. It also means I read slowly which is why it takes me a little more time to reply. There is nothing I can do about it therefore I see no reason to say I'm sorry. It's simply part of who I am. One of those things women often find endearing at first, but later it drives them crazy.

My daughter is dyslexic so I'm familiar with the problems. I'd recommend getting the FireFox browser with built-in spell checking. Saves you that problem. As for jumping to conclusions, you jump to conclusions when you make assumptions about large groups of women (ie older ones) when you do it to others you can expect them to do the same. Just the way life works.

Scoundrel we didn't prove anything we attempted to but the spelling was wrong.... Davey a guy found it... And believe me 20 somethings wold have done the same so don't play that we're older BS on us..

No one said you were unintelligent.. Now why you want someone to talk about inane subjects we haven't figured out but hey you're the one dating them.. WE just don't like being put down b/c you're only interested in younger women.. THAT makes you judgmental (no E a common mistake made by many)...

I have said it many times. I am not only interested in younger women. I talk to anyone I find interesting. I'm a social guy that talks to people everywhere I go. It could be a bookstore or a coffee house or a nightclub or bed bath and beyond. It just seems to be the young ones that are interested in me. I have met a good many women close to my age that I would have been interested in dating, but they always push me away. So, I date the young ones. Perhaps the women my age are simply playing hard to get and I'm too much of a social retard to get it. They want me to chase them. To invest more in them. All I know is that it's much more fun talking to a 25 year old than it is talking to a 45 year old usually. There are exceptions, yes. I just don't seem to meet many of them.

If I speak in generalities it is because the things I'm saying are generally true. Yes, there are exceptions. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. I am never talking about anyone personally so don't take it personally.

But, that wasn't what this thread was even about.

Nothing wrong with dating whoever you like; I like younger guys, so to each his/her own. What the ladies found insulting was your statement about older women not being as educated and interesting as younger women. I don't find myself to be particularly "older" so I didn't find this insulting, I think it's not very accurate. For one thing, the older a woman is, the more chances she has to be even more educated, not less, especially since she'll more than likely have more money and more time.

Perhaps the young women you met were all like that, and that's fine, but it's insulting to make generalizations. That's why it's best to say "some" or "in my experience" maybe. But when you make blanket statements like that, you have a tendency to ruffle feathers.

My grandfather once told me "if you don't like the taste of leather stop putting your foot in your mouth". ... on offense intended but it just seems like every time you say something it comes out sounding the same as what you said that got you the reaction in the first place.

If I'm ruffling anyone's feathers it's because I'm hitting close to home. Perhaps I've found someone's insecurities? I have NEVER said anything the least bit insulting to anyone on this or any other forum. Yes, there are women that are inteligent that are over 40, but that doesn't change the fact that there are more men with genius level IQs than there are women by about 5 to 1. This is a fact. *There are also more men with below avreage IQs than women as well.* That is also a fact.

rofl rofl not hardly. You're ruffling everyones feathers because you're behaving clueless.

As for your "facts". First that's one study by one man. Lots of studies of this type have been found to be way off base. Second it uses IQ tests as it's basis which have already been proven to have sever weaknesses in their ability to measure intelligence. And lastly so what even if it were right, what's gotten people annoyed with you is your assertion that younger women were better educated (Yeah I know you've denied saying that only to put your foot back in your mouth on it). I imagine now you just manage to piss off a much larger group of women, like maybe all of them... Perhaps the reason you have better luck with younger women is that some don't have the experience to know to question your statements.

I don't think they're insecure, in fact, the women on mingle are some of the most confident people I've seen (it's usually the men who are insecure:wink:) Taking issue with a blanket statement doesn't make you insecure, it makes you smart enough to stand up for yourself. As for men being smarter than women, I'm not even going to touch that bit of silliness, I'll just wonder why you changed the subject and then back out of the room because I just know when the other ladies read that, the crap is going to hit the proverbial fan. Good luck with that, laugh glasses
